Well, ya know, Alabama ain’t got itself no NFL team, which is a bit of a mystery for folks like us who love our football. But lemme tell ya, the state ain’t exactly missin’ out, ’cause there’s plenty of Alabama boys out there playin’ in the NFL, just not for us. Now, Nick Saban, he done built up one heck of a program down at the University of Alabama, the Crimson Tide, and that means our boys are spread out all over the place playin’ in the big leagues.
The main reason we ain’t got a team? Well, it’s all about the people, or rather the lack of ’em. Alabama ain’t got the big cities like some of them other places do, and the folks just ain’t packin’ in enough to fill up a whole football stadium for a pro team. Same thing with Kentucky not havin’ no NBA team, or places like North Dakota not havin’ a hockey team. It’s just how it is.
But don’t y’all go thinkin’ we ain’t got talent, ’cause we sure do! You take a look at the NFL rosters, and you’re gonna see a whole bunch of Alabama boys—whether they’re in the backfield, on the offensive line, or runnin’ down the field makin’ tackles. Heck, some of ‘em are even quarterbackin’ for their teams, like Mac Jones and Tua Tagovailoa, two fellas that were big stars for the Crimson Tide.
Now, Alabama’s got some fine folks who played for ‘em and went on to do great things in the NFL. You got guys like Jalen Hurts who’s makin’ a name for himself, not just in college but in the pros too. That boy’s out there in the NFL playoffs, and you better believe he’s makin’ Alabama proud.
Here’s a list of just a few players from the Crimson Tide out there on NFL teams:
- Jonah Williams – Offensive Tackle, Cincinnati Bengals
- Mack Wilson – Inside Linebacker, Cleveland Browns
- Rashaan Evans – Inside Linebacker, Tennessee Titans
- Brian Robinson Jr. – Running Back, Washington Commanders
- DeVonta Smith – Wide Receiver, Philadelphia Eagles
- Jalen Hurts – Quarterback, Philadelphia Eagles
Alabama’s proud of its players, and these boys are doin’ us right by representin’ us on them NFL teams. It’s just somethin’ about the way Saban’s been trainin’ ’em, turnin’ out NFL-ready athletes year after year. Some teams even got a handful of Alabama boys on their roster, from defense to offense, showin’ off what we got down here in the heart of the South.
Now, sure, it would be nice if we had our own NFL team to cheer for on Sundays, but in a way, we don’t need one. We got Alabama players in the NFL, and each one of ’em feels like a piece of home when they’re out there playin’. Roll Tide, y’all!
