Well, let me tell ya, that 2015 season for them Chicago Bears wasn’t what folks around the NFL expected, no sir. They didn’t do so hot, no matter how much we hoped for ‘em. Ended up with a record of 6 wins and 10 losses. Now, for a team like the Bears, that’s not somethin’ to be too proud of, I reckon. But anyhow, let me walk ya through who all was on that roster back then, ’cause there’s a lotta folks who been askin’ about it.
Quarterbacks: Now, the main quarterback for the Bears that year was Jay Cutler. I ain’t gonna sugarcoat it, he had some good games and some bad ones too. He was the one throwin’ the ball all season long, but, shoot, there was a lot of times when folks wished he coulda done better. Behind him was a young fella by the name of Jimmy Clausen, but he didn’t get much playin’ time, not as much as folks had hoped. It was mostly Cutler’s show, for better or worse.
Running Backs: When it come to runnin’, the Bears had some solid folks. Matt Forte, now there’s a name ya can’t forget. That fella could run that ball like nobody’s business. He had a lotta carries that year and made plenty of good runs. There was also Jeremy Langford, a rookie, who stepped in a couple times when Forte needed a break. Not a bad bunch of backs, but they didn’t always get the help they needed from that offensive line.
Wide Receivers: When it come to the wideouts, the Bears had some talent. Alshon Jeffery was the star of that group, tall fella, could catch a ball like nobody else. He had some good plays, but again, the team just couldn’t find enough consistency. There was also Eddie Royal, but he didn’t make as big of a splash as some folks had thought. Still, them wide receivers did what they could, and it wasn’t all bad.
Offensive Line: Ah, now, here’s where things started fallin’ apart a little bit. That offensive line, well, it had its ups and downs. You had Kyle Long, he was a good fella, solid player, but even he couldn’t do much when that line got pushin’ from the other teams. There were times when Jay Cutler was runnin’ for his life, and that makes it real hard to win games. But that’s just how it went, I suppose.
Defensive Line: On the other side of the ball, there was some fightin’ spirit. You had guys like Akiem Hicks and Eddie Goldman doin’ their best to stop the run and get to the quarterback. They weren’t the flashiest of players, but they did their job, makin’ it tough for the other team to march down the field. But again, the defense wasn’t as strong as we’d all hoped for that year, and they had their struggles too.
Linebackers: The linebacker corps, well, you had some good ones like Pernell McPhee and Jarvis Jenkins. They did their best to keep the defense from fallin’ apart, but the whole defense had its issues. Sometimes they couldn’t stop the run, and other times they couldn’t get to the quarterback. It just wasn’t a complete unit like it used to be.
Secondary: Now, when we talk about the secondary, we’re talkin’ about the guys who’re supposed to stop the pass. That year, we had guys like Tracy Porter and Kyle Fuller back there. They had some good plays, but they also had their share of mistakes, which didn’t help much when the other team was throwin’ deep balls all over the place. But hey, they kept on tryin’, and that’s what you gotta respect, right?
Special Teams: And don’t forget special teams, now. They might not get as much glory, but them fellas did their part too. Robbie Gould was doin’ the kickin’, and he was one of the more reliable ones on the team, puttin’ through them field goals when it counted. But in the end, special teams can only do so much when the rest of the team is havin’ a rough time.
Now, I reckon that 2015 season wasn’t somethin’ for the Bears to be proud of, but they did what they could. Ain’t no shame in givin’ it your all, even when things don’t go your way. They finished 6-10, and that’s just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. But you know what? Football’s a funny game, and there’s always next season to look forward to.
So, there you go. That’s the rundown of the 2015 Chicago Bears roster. Ain’t no use in dwellin’ on the past, though. Let’s see what the future holds for ’em, eh?
