Well, I tell ya, this Corey Seager fella, he sure has been a name folks are talkin’ about when it comes to baseball. Now, if ya look at what they call them projections, ya know, the numbers and all that, it seems like he’s got some mighty big shoes to fill. But let me tell ya, he’s had his ups and downs, just like that old mule I used to have.
Last year, ol’ Seager played in 119 games, and that ain’t too shabby, but it ain’t perfect neither. See, the thing with him is that he just can’t seem to stay healthy all the time. You know how it is—sometimes you’re feelin’ fine, but the next minute, somethin’ gives out, and you’re sittin’ on the sidelines. That’s been a bit of a problem for Seager, but if he stays in the game, he can really turn heads.
Now, folks are wonderin’ what’s gonna happen in 2024, with them projections for fantasy baseball and all. I reckon they’ll keep lookin’ at his stats from last year and the year before. His batting average, home runs, and RBIs are a big part of that. See, in 2023, he had a wRC+ of 124. Now, that’s a fancy number, but what it means is that he was above average with his bat—good enough to get the job done. And, his ISO—now that’s a stat that measures power—was sittin’ at .199, which is alright against right-handed pitchers.
Folks that follow this fantasy baseball business, they’ll be watchin’ how Seager does against different pitchers. For example, his numbers against them right-handed pitchers are pretty good. If he stays healthy, he could do mighty well in 2024, but that’s a big “if.” He might be one of them sleepers that sneak up on ya, if you ask me.
But, ya gotta know that Seager ain’t the only one on that Texas Rangers team. No sir, they’ve got a fella named Marcus Semien too. Now, he ain’t got the same kind of numbers as Seager, but he does okay. Together, they could make a real strong pair. If Seager keeps hittin’ the way he did last year, you might just see the Rangers go far.
Now, I ain’t no expert, but from what I’ve seen, Seager’s fantasy value could be real high if he can stay off the injury list. If you’re playin’ fantasy baseball, I’d keep him on your radar. But don’t be expectin’ him to be perfect every game, ‘cause just like that ol’ mule, he might stumble now and then. But when he’s on, he’s on.
All in all, ya got yourself a good player in Seager, but just be mindful of them injuries. If he stays healthy, he could be a real good pick for your team in 2024. Just make sure to keep an eye on them injury reports before you make your final decision. Ya never know what might happen!
