Alright, let’s jaw about this Ernest Marshall fella and that Bellarmine University basketball, ya hear? I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, just tellin’ it like it is.
So, this Ernest, he went to this Bellarmine University, down in Louisville, Kentucky. Sounds like a fancy place, but I reckon it’s just a school where young’uns go to learn and play some ball. Ernest, he played basketball there for four whole years. That’s a long time to be bouncin’ a ball, I tell ya. Must’ve been pretty good at it, I figure.
Now, his daddy, he was right proud of Ernest playin’ ball. Ain’t no secret about that. Fathers are like that, always braggin’ on their kids. Good on ’em, I say. Family’s important, ya know? Family, faith, and a good plate of food, that’s what matters in this life.
Speakin’ of family, seems like this Ernest fella, he’s got a whole basketball clan goin’ on. There’s this Gabbie Marshall, played for the Iowa Hawkeyes. She’s done with the basketball now, though. Moved on to studyin’ somethin’ called “Occupational Therapy.” Sounds complicated. She’s Ernest’s kin, born back in 2000. Her folks, Ernest and Marne, they both played ball in college too. See? A whole basketball family! They got four kids, Gabbie and three more, Noah, Luke, and Lily. That’s a houseful, I tell ya.
- Ernest went to Bellarmine University and played basketball.
- Gabbie Marshall, related to Ernest, played for Iowa Hawkeyes and is now retired.
- Ernest and Marne, Gabbie’s parents, also played college basketball.
- They have four children: Gabbie, Noah, Luke, and Lily.
Now, Gabbie, she didn’t go into no draft or nothin’. Just up and quit the basketball to focus on her learnin’. Good for her, I guess. Got her head on straight, that one. Education’s important, even if you can bounce a ball real good.
This Bellarmine place, it’s a university. Universities are big schools where they teach you all sorts of things. Probably teach you how to grow corn, too, if you ask nice. I reckon Ernest learned a lot there, not just about basketball, but about life too. College does that to ya, makes you grow up a bit. Not that growin’ up is all that great, mind you. More worries, more bills, more aches and pains. But that’s just how it is.
Then there’s this Marshall University over in West Virginia. They got a big place called the Cam Henderson Center where they play all sorts of sports. Basketball too, I bet. I ain’t never been to West Virginia, but I hear it’s pretty. Lots of hills and trees, just like back home. Makes a body feel comfortable, ya know?
Anyways, back to Ernest and Bellarmine. Four years of basketball, that’s a lot of sweat and hustle. Running up and down that court, dribblin’ the ball, shootin’ hoops. It’s hard work, I tell ya. Not like sittin’ on the porch sippin’ sweet tea, that’s for sure. But I reckon Ernest, he loved it. You gotta love somethin’ to stick with it that long. Just like I love my garden, even when the weeds try to take over.
So, there you have it. A little somethin’ about Ernest Marshall and Bellarmine University basketball. And a bit about his family and some other basketball places. It ain’t fancy, but it’s the truth, as far as I know. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it? The truth and a good cup of coffee, can’t beat it.
And that Gabbie, she seems like a smart girl, focusin’ on her studies and all. Maybe she’ll become a doctor or somethin’, help folks. That’s a good thing to do, helpin’ folks. More important than basketball, if you ask me. But basketball’s alright too, I guess. Keeps the young’uns busy and out of trouble. Mostly.
So, yeah, Ernest, Bellarmine, basketball… it’s all connected somehow. Like a big ol’ family tree, with branches reachin’ every which way. And that’s a good thing, I reckon. Family and basketball, and maybe a little bit of learnin’ thrown in for good measure. That’s the way it should be.
