Alright, so you wanna know about this C.J. Stroud fella and his fantasy football stuff? Okay, okay, I’ll tell ya what I know, even though I don’t understand all this fancy football talk. My grandson, he’s always yellin’ about it, so I picked up a thing or two, ya know?
So, this C.J. Stroud, he plays for them Houston Texans. They say he’s a quarterback, the one who throws the ball, I guess. Now, in this fantasy football, you don’t actually play football, mind you. It’s like…pretend football. You pick players, and if they do good in real games, you get points. Sounds silly to me, but the young folks love it.
They got these websites and things, where they tell you how good each player is. They call ‘em rankings. My grandson showed me, C.J. Stroud, they put him somewhere in the middle, not the best, not the worst. Said he was like, number 12 or somethin’ last year. That’s pretty good, I guess, for a young fella.
And they keep track of all the things he does in the games. How many times he throws the ball, how far he throws it, if the other guys catch it. They even got points for touchdowns, when they run into that end thingy. It’s a whole lot of numbers, makes my head spin.
- Touchdowns: That’s when they score, real important, I reckon.
- Yards: How far they run or throw the ball. More yards, more points, that’s what I gather.
- Catches: If the other guys on his team catch the ball he throws. Gotta catch the ball to score, right?
Now, they say this C.J. Stroud, he had a good year for a rookie, that means he’s new, just started playing. They call it an “electric rookie season.” Sounded like he was zappin’ folks on the field, ha! But seriously, it means he did good for his first year.
They also got this thing called “start-sit advice.” That’s where these experts, so they say, tell ya which players to pick for your pretend team each week. Should you “start” C.J. Stroud this week or “sit” him on the bench? They look at who he’s playin’ against and if he’s hurt or not. My grandson is always frettin’ about this start-sit stuff.
They even talk about tradin’ players, like they’re baseball cards or somethin’. If you think C.J. Stroud ain’t doin’ so good, you can trade him for another player, if someone wants him, that is. It’s all a big game, this fantasy football. More complicated than checkers, I tell ya.
So, is C.J. Stroud good for your fantasy team? Well, like I said, he’s in the middle. He had a good rookie year, but they say it depends on who he’s playin’ against and if he stays healthy. He’s got potential, they say. That means he could be real good, or he could be just okay. It’s a gamble, like everything in life, ain’t it?
This C.J. Stroud fella, he seems like a nice young man. My grandson said he’s got a good family, religious too, which is nice to hear. He’s got brothers and sisters. Probably a good boy, raised right. That don’t mean nothin’ for fantasy football, but it’s good to know. They even said somethin’ ‘bout some player named Allen gettin’ points for catchin’ and throwin’ in the same game once, got ‘em near 11 points. See? I told ya I picked up a thing or two.
Anyway, that’s all I know about C.J. Stroud and this fantasy football. You wanna know more, you ask my grandson. He knows all the ins and outs of it. Me, I’m just an old lady who watches a little football on Sundays and tries to make sense of it all.
