Alright, let’s talk about this Mikey tattoo thing. I ain’t no expert, mind you, just an old woman with some thoughts. Heard folks talkin’ about it, seen some pictures. So, lemme tell ya what I make of it.
First off, this Mikey fella, sounds like he’s a big deal with the tattoos. Tattoo artist, they call him. Got a place in some city, Pittsburgh, I think. Smithfield Street, somethin’ like that. He’s got a bunch of followers, too, thousands of ’em. Don’t know what that means exactly, but sounds important. Folks like his work, I guess. He does these black and gray tattoos, real fine lines, they say. Anime, too. Now, I don’t know nothin’ ’bout no anime, but sounds fancy.

- He draws real good, they say, with those thin lines.
- People like his work, lots of ‘em.
Now, about the tattoos themselves. I seen some pictures. There’s this one tattoo, on the neck, spine they call it. Important place, that is. Helps you move around, I hear. This Mikey fella got somethin’ special there. And then there’s this Kaizen tattoo. Japanese, they say. Means somethin’ ’bout gettin’ better all the time, growin’. Sounds good to me. Always tryin’ to be better, that’s the way to go.
And this other tattoo, somethin’ ’bout a fella named Adam and God reachin’ out to each other. Big picture, painted on some church ceiling way back when. Mikey makes it into a tattoo, I guess. Powerful stuff, I reckon. Reachin’ out for somethin’ bigger than yourself, that’s what it makes me think of.
Then there’s this other Mikey tattoo, looks like a cartoon character or somethin’. People love it, seems like. Want to get it tattooed on themselves, show their love for it. I don’t get it, but hey, folks like what they like. It’s their skin, their choice, I always say. This Mikey, whoever he is, he’s got people hooked. They’re even plannin’ a special day for it, a Sunday in November. From mornin’ till evenin’, just tattoos.
Now, me, I ain’t never had a tattoo. Too old for that now. But I can appreciate the art, the work that goes into it. These tattoo artists, they’re real skilled, gotta give ‘em that. And this Mikey, he’s one of the best, seems like. Got people lined up, wantin’ his work on their skin. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? He’s got a passion for it, that’s what they said. Loves to do these tattoos. And it shows, I guess. Folks wouldn’t be so crazy about it if it wasn’t good.
This tattoo business, it’s a whole world of its own. People expressin’ themselves, tellin’ their stories on their skin. It’s like writin’ a book, but instead of paper, it’s on your body. Some folks like flowers, some like animals, some like these here Mikey tattoos. Whatever floats their boat, I say. Life’s too short to be judgin’ what others do with their own bodies.
So, that’s my take on this Mikey tattoo thing. He’s a popular tattoo artist, does good work, people love it. He draws fancy pictures on people’s skin and they pay him for it. Sounds like a good gig if you can get it. And those tattoos, some of ’em are real pretty, even to an old woman like me. Got meanin’, some of ’em. Showin’ what’s important to the person wearin’ it. That’s what matters, I reckon. Findin’ somethin’ that means somethin’ to you and holdin’ onto it. Whether it’s a picture on your skin or a feelin’ in your heart, that’s what makes life worth livin’.
