Alright, let’s yak about this NFL GM salary thing, you know, how much them fellas who run the football teams get paid. It ain’t simple like sellin’ eggs at the market, that’s for sure.
I heard tell some of these GMs, the ones been around the block, they rake in the dough, like millions of dollars a year. Yeah, you heard that right, millions! Makes my head spin just thinkin’ ’bout it. Then there’s the young’uns, just startin’ out, they get less, maybe just a measly million or so. Still a heck of a lot more than I ever seen!
Now, what do these GMs do to earn all that money? Well, it ain’t just sittin’ on their behinds, that’s for sure. They gotta figure out which players to hire, how much to pay ’em, and who to get rid of. It’s like a big ol’ puzzle, and if they mess it up, the whole team suffers. And the fans, oh boy, them fans get riled up somethin’ fierce!
See, these NFL players, they get paid a whole bunch too. Some of them youngsters, fresh outta college, they might only get a few hundred thousand dollars a year. But the big stars, the ones who throw the ball real far or run real fast, they get paid big bucks. I heard some of ’em make tens of millions a year! Can you believe that? More money than you can shake a stick at, that’s what it is.
- So, the GM gotta figure out how to spend the team’s money wisely. They can’t just go throwin’ it around like chicken feed. They gotta find players who are good, but also affordable. It’s a tricky business, let me tell ya.
- And it ain’t just about the players’ salaries either. The GM gotta worry about signing bonuses, and all sorts of other payments. It’s enough to make your head swim, all them numbers and contracts and whatnot.
Now, I was readin’ somewhere that the average NFL player makes a pretty good livin’. Something like a few million a year, on average. But that’s just an average, mind you. Some make way more, and some make way less. It all depends on how good they are, how long they been playin’, and what position they play.
And speakin’ of averages, I saw somethin’ about the average GM salary bein’ around, oh, I don’t know, maybe a hundred thousand or so a year. But that can’t be right, can it? I mean, I heard them big-time GMs make millions! Maybe that average is just for the assistant GMs, the ones who help out the main guy. Yeah, that makes more sense. Them assistants, they probably make a couple hundred thousand, somethin’ like that.
There’s this fella, Jerry Jones, he owns the Dallas Cowboys team and he’s also the GM. He’s the only one doin’ that in the whole league, I reckon. Then there’s the Cincinnati Bengals, they don’t even have a GM, just the owner runnin’ things. Goes to show ya, there’s all sorts of ways to run a football team.
So, how much does an NFL GM make? Well, it depends. It depends on how experienced they are, how good their team is, and how much money the owner is willin’ to spend. But one thing’s for sure, it’s a whole heck of a lot of money. Enough to buy a whole lotta chickens, that’s for sure! And don’t forget those assistant GM fellas, they’re pullin’ in a couple hundred thousand too. It’s a rich man’s game, this football, that’s what it is. Makes you wonder where all that money comes from, don’t it?
And remember, this ain’t just about the money. It’s about the football. It’s about winnin’ games and makin’ the fans happy. And that, well, that’s priceless. Or so they say. But I reckon a few million dollars don’t hurt none either!
