Alright, let’s talk about this Michael Porter Jr. fella, you know, the one plays basketball. Folks keep jabberin’ about him and them Suns, so I figured I’d put in my two cents, even if I don’t know a lick about fancy sports talk. But I watch the games, see? I see things.
First off, this boy, Porter Jr., he’s a scorer, that much I can tell. One game he’s gettin’ 17 points, then another he’s gettin’ 19. Heck, I even saw him score 18 points once. Seems like he’s always puttin’ that ball in the hoop. He’s good at that, that’s for sure. But is he good enough against them Suns? That’s the real question, ain’t it?
Now, them Suns, they’re a tough bunch. They got fellas runnin’ and jumpin’ all over the place. It ain’t easy scorin’ against them. I seen Porter Jr. havin’ good games and bad games. Sometimes he’s makin’ shots, sometimes he’s missin’. That’s basketball, I reckon. You win some, you lose some.
- One thing I noticed is this boy used to be a vegetarian, or somethin’ like that. Didn’t eat no meat, can you believe it? Then he went all raw vegan, eatin’ just plants and such. But now, he’s eatin’ meat again. I guess he figured he needed some steak to play better basketball. Makes sense to me, you gotta have some meat on your bones to go up against them strong fellas on the Suns.
- And then there’s this back pain he’s got. Poor boy, hurtin’ all the time. That can’t be good for playin’ basketball. Makes you wonder how he does it, runnin’ and jumpin’ with a bad back. He must be tough, that’s for sure. But will that back hold up against the Suns? That’s another thing to think about.
They say you can look up all the stats, see how he does against the Suns, game by game. Per-game stats, they call ’em. I don’t know nothin’ about that fancy talk. But I know what I see with my own two eyes. Sometimes he plays good, sometimes he don’t. That’s the way it is with all these young fellas.
I saw this one game, Nikola Jokic, that big fella, he passed the ball to Porter Jr. and he scored. They work together, those two. But then sometimes Porter Jr. misses shots. He missed a 23-footer one time, I remember that. You can’t make ‘em all, I guess. But against the Suns, you gotta make most of ‘em, or you ain’t gonna win.
So, what’s the deal with Porter Jr. and the Suns? Well, it’s like this. He’s a good scorer, that’s for sure. But the Suns are tough. He’s got that bad back, which worries me. And even though he’s eatin’ meat now, he still gotta be strong enough to go up against them Suns fellas. It’s gonna be a battle, that’s for sure.
This comin’ season, they say you can find all the stats on ESPN. Per opponent and all that. I don’t need no ESPN to tell me if he’s playin’ good or not. I can see it with my own eyes. But I guess some folks like them numbers. They can look ‘em up if they want. Me, I’ll just watch the games.
In the end, it all comes down to who wants it more. Porter Jr. gotta want it more than them Suns if he wants to win. He gotta be tough, he gotta be healthy, and he gotta make them shots. If he does all that, maybe he can beat them Suns. Maybe. We’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we?
Anyways, that’s what I think about this whole Porter Jr. and the Suns thing. Like I said, I don’t know much about fancy sports talk, but I know what I see. And I see a tough battle ahead. A real tough battle.
