Alright, so you wanna know ’bout this Olumuyiwa Fashanu fella, huh? Let me tell ya what I know, the way I know it. No fancy words, just plain talk.
First off, this boy, Olumuyiwa, but he likes to be called Olu, he’s a football player. Big fella, plays that tackle position, you know, the ones who keep them other fellas from gettin’ to the quarterback. He plays for the New York Jets now, in that NFL thing. Big deal, I guess. People make a fuss over it.
Where’s he from? Well, they say he was born in Waldorf, Maryland, back in 2002. That ain’t too far from here, I reckon. And his people, they say he’s Yoruba. Don’t ask me what that is exactly, some kinda tribe or somethin’ from far away, I heard. But he grew up ’round Washington D.C., went to a school called Gonzaga College High School.
Then he went off to college, Penn State University. Played football there too. They say he was real good, didn’t let nobody sack the quarterback, not even once in his last year! That’s somethin’, ain’t it? Kept them fellas safe, that’s for sure. Big fella, strong as an ox, I bet.

Now, he’s in the NFL, playing for the Jets. He’s a big ol’ rookie, still learning the ropes, I guess. They drafted him, you know, picked him to play for their team. Big money in that, I hear. Must be nice. He ain’t always starting, but he gets in there sometimes. Plays left tackle mostly, but they got him playin’ all over the line, right tackle, even guard sometimes when them other fellas get hurt. Tough job, I tell ya. Gotta be strong and quick.
Folks talk about his size, his strength. They say he’s got potential, gonna be a real star someday. Well, maybe so. He’s young yet. Gotta work hard, stay outta trouble. That’s what my ma always said, God rest her soul. Work hard and be good. That’s all there is to it.
Heard tell he had some ups and downs, some penalties and such. Well, that’s football, ain’t it? Can’t win ‘em all. Gotta learn from your mistakes, keep on tryin’. That’s what life’s all about, far as I can see.
What else? They call him Olu, like I said. And that last name, Fashanu, they say it like “FASH-uh-new.” Kinda fancy, but I guess that’s how they talk in them big cities. He’s a big fella, gotta protect that quarterback. That’s his job. And he seems like a good boy, works hard, does what he’s told.
So that’s the story of Olumuyiwa Fashanu, far as I know it. Young fella, playin’ football, tryin’ to make a name for himself. Good luck to him, I say. He’s got a good start, long as he stays outta trouble and keeps workin’ hard, he’ll do just fine.
Just remember, it ain’t all about the money and the fame. It’s about doin’ your best, bein’ a good person. That’s what really matters in the end. You hear me?
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about this young man. Hope it helps ya understand who he is and where he comes from. It ain’t rocket science, just a good boy tryin’ to make his way in the world, playin’ a bit of football along the way. Now, you go on and have a good day.
