Alright, so you wanna know about this Orion Kerkering fella, huh? Lemme tell ya what I heard. They say he’s a baseball player, plays for them Phillies. Big shot, I guess. Folks keep askin’ about where he’s from, like it matters more than how he throws that ball.
Who’s this Orion Kerkering anyways?
Well, from what I gather, this Orion fella, he was born in Huntington Beach, that’s out in California way. Born in 2001, so he’s just a young’un. They picked him up in the draft in 2022, and he started playin’ in the big leagues last year, 2023. Imagine that, a young whippersnapper like him playin’ with all them seasoned fellas.
What’s all this fuss about his background?
Now, here’s where it gets complicated, like tryin’ to untangle a ball of yarn after the cat got to it. They say he’s American, born and bred, but he’s got some other stuff mixed in too. Like one of them mixed breed dogs, ya know? Not a bad thing, just means he’s got a bit of this and a bit of that. Folks online, they’re always pokin’ around, askin’ about his “ethnicity.” Sounds fancy, but all it means is where his folks and their folks before them came from.
So, where’s his family from then?
- They say he’s American, that’s for sure. Born right here in the good ol’ USA.
- But then they say he’s got Filipino in him too. Now, I ain’t been to the Philippines, but I hear it’s a bunch of islands way across the ocean. So, his folks, or maybe his grandfolks, they musta come from over there. Imagine that journey! Musta been harder than churnin’ butter on a hot day.
Why does it matter, this “ethnicity” thing?
Honestly, I don’t see why it matters so much. A good fella is a good fella, no matter where his people came from. If he can throw that ball and help his team win, that’s all that should count, right? But I guess some folks like to know these things. Makes ’em feel closer, maybe, or maybe they just like to gossip. Reminds me of them hens in the coop, always clucking about somethin’.
He plays baseball, that’s the important thing.
This Orion Kerkering, he’s a pitcher, they say. That means he throws the ball. And from what I hear, he’s pretty good at it too. A “rising star” they call him. Shinin’ bright like the mornin’ sun, I guess. He’s young, got lots of energy, and probably throws that ball faster than a rooster chases a hen. That’s what people should be talkin’ about, not where his great-grandpappy came from.
So, to sum it up…
Orion Kerkering, American fella, plays baseball, got some Filipino in him. Born in California, plays for the Phillies, throws the ball real good. That’s all you need to know. Don’t get caught up in all that other fancy talk. It’s like tryin’ to count the stars, there’s just too many and it don’t get you nowhere. He’s a baseball player, and a good one at that, and that’s all that matters to this old woman. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my biscuits.
End of story. Don’t go lookin’ for trouble where there ain’t none.
Just watch the boy play ball. That’s the American way, ain’t it?
