Alright, listen up y’all, let’s jaw about this here Houston Hilltoppers football, ya hear? Now, I ain’t no fancy sportswriter or nothin’, just a plain ol’ person tellin’ it like it is. So don’t expect no big words or complicated stuff, alright?
First off, they got this game comin’ up, see? Houston Hilltoppers playin’ against the West Lauderdale Knights. Heard tell it’s gonna be a big deal, folks gettin’ all riled up about it. They say both teams are “red-hot,” whatever that means. Sounds like they’re playin’ good, I reckon.
Now, I tried lookin’ at this here schedule, but it’s all jumbled up. Too many numbers and dates for my old eyes. But from what I gather, this 2024 football season just started. They had this “jamboree” thing, played against Amory. Don’t rightly know what a jamboree is, but it sounds like a big ol’ party before the real games start.
- They got a bunch of players, a whole “roster” they call it. Couldn’t tell ya their names, too many to remember.
- And they got this “ranking” thing too. Guess it shows how good they are compared to other teams. Folks seem to care a lot about that rankin’.
- They even got news and stuff, but it’s all just a bunch of jabberin’ about who did what and who’s gonna win. Can’t keep up with it at all.
This Houston team, they got a new “field general.” That’s what they call the quarterback, I think. Sounds important, like he’s the one tellin’ everyone what to do. Hope he’s a smart fella, knows what he’s doin’. ‘Cause if he messes up, the whole team’s gonna look like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off, you know?
Anyways, they’re playin’ games all season long. You can go watch ’em if you want. They say it’s fun, all that yellin’ and cheerin’. Me? I’d rather stay home and watch my stories on the TV, but to each their own, I always say.
Now, I heard some folks talkin’ about how important this football is. Say it brings the community together, gives folks somethin’ to be proud of. Maybe so, maybe so. I ain’t gonna argue with that. But to me, it’s just a bunch of boys runnin’ around with a ball. Still, I hope them Hilltoppers do good. Nothin’ wrong with a little winnin’, right? Make the town happy and such.
So, if you’re lookin’ for information about the Houston high school football, you can find it all over the place, I guess. They got websites and newspapers and all that fancy stuff. Me? I just hear things from my neighbors and the folks at the store. That’s enough for me. I don’t need all that extra hullabaloo.
But one thing’s for sure, this Hilltoppers football team has got folks talkin’. And that ain’t a bad thing, I reckon. Keeps things lively, you know? Gives us somethin’ to chew on besides the same old gossip. So go on, root for them Hilltoppers if you want. Or don’t. It ain’t gonna change my biscuits one way or another.
They are playing this Saturday too, I think. Better check that schedule thing they have online if you really wanna know for sure. Like I said, too many numbers for me.
