Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about this here baseball game, the Yankees and them Astros. Don’t know much about fancy stats, but I can tell ya who’s hittin’ the ball good and who ain’t.
So, these Yankees and Astros, they been smackin’ balls at each other for a while now. Folks call it a “rivalry,” I guess. Means they don’t much like each other on the field. Kinda like them neighbor dogs, always barkin’ and snarlin’.
Them Yankees Hitters
Heard tell of this fella, Aaron Judge. Big fella, hits the ball a country mile. They say he smacks them “homers” all the time. Guess that’s good, means he gets around the bases and scores runs. That’s how ya win games, right? Get more runs than the other fellas.
Then there’s… well, I don’t rightly remember all their names. Too many fancy names for this old gal. But there’s a bunch of ’em, swingin’ bats and tryin’ to hit that ball. Some do good, some don’t. That’s baseball, I reckon.
Them Astros Pitchers and Hitters
Now, them Astros, they got some fellas who can throw that ball hard. This Gerrit Cole fella, he used to pitch for the Astros, but now he’s with the Yankees. Funny how that works, ain’t it? One day you’re throwin’ for one team, the next you’re throwin’ for the other.
- Pitching is important, gotta get them Yankees out.
- Hitting is important too, gotta get them runs.
Heard tell of this Jeff Bagwell fella, used to play for the Astros. Hit a whole mess of “homers,” they say. 449 of ’em! That’s a lot of smackin’, I tell ya. Another fella, Lance Berkman, he hit a bunch too. 326, I think they said. These fellas could really swing them bats.
And this Yordan Alvarez fella, they say he’s gonna break some records. Hits the ball hard, just like them other fellas. Maybe he will, maybe he won’t. Baseball’s a funny game, ya never know what’s gonna happen.
Who’s Better? Yankees or Astros?
Well, that’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? Folks get all riled up about who’s better. They got their “stats” and their “percentages” and all that fancy talk. Me? I just watch the game. See who’s hittin’ the ball, who’s catchin’ the ball, who’s runnin’ the bases.
Them Astros, they won more games against the Yankees overall, somethin’ like 49 wins to 33 losses. But that don’t mean nothin’ on any given day. Any team can beat any other team, that’s what makes it excitin’. Like when a little bitty dog chases a big ol’ truck, sometimes that dog gets lucky.
What Matters in the End?
In the end, it’s all about havin’ fun, I reckon. Watchin’ them fellas play ball, eatin’ some peanuts, maybe havin’ a cold drink. Don’t matter if your team wins or loses, long as they put up a good fight. That’s what I say, anyway.
Some Important Things
So, if you wanna know who’s doin’ good, watch them fellas. See who’s hittin’ them “homers,” who’s gettin’ on base, who’s makin’ them fancy catches. That’s how ya tell who’s playin’ good ball. And don’t forget the pitchers, they gotta throw that ball good too, keep them hitters from smackin’ it outta the park.
And remember, it ain’t just about one fella, it’s about the whole team. Gotta work together, like a bunch of ants carryin’ a big ol’ crumb. That’s how ya win games.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about it. Go watch the game, have some fun, and don’t worry too much about them fancy stats. Just enjoy the show, that’s what I do.
