Alright, so listen up, y’all. I’m gonna tell ya ’bout this fella, Sebastian, in this here book, “Sam Burns Succubus and the City”. Now, I ain’t no fancy book reader, but this one, it kinda stuck with me, ya know?
This Sebastian fella, he ain’t no ordinary guy. He’s one of them… whatchamacallits… a succubus. Yeah, that’s it. Sounds like somethin’ my chickens would hatch, but it ain’t. It means he’s got some kinda magic, I guess. And this magic, it makes him… well, let’s just say he’s real popular with the fellas, and maybe the gals too, I ain’t judgin’.
Anyways, Sebastian, he always dreamt of livin’ in the big city, New York City, they call it. Imagine that! A place with more folks than my whole county, probably. So, he goes there, thinkin’ it’s gonna be all fancy and excitin’. But, wouldn’t ya know it, it ain’t all that great. He’s all alone, no family, no friends, not even a neighbor to borrow a cup of sugar from.
Now, this is where it gets interestin’. He meets this other fella, Finn. I ain’t sure where Finn comes from or what he does, but he’s important to the story, ya see? They kinda… well, they get to know each other. The book doesn’t spell it all out, but you get the picture. It’s like when my prize-winning rooster, Big Red, met that new hen, Henrietta. Sparks flyin’ everywhere, if you catch my drift.
The whole story is set in New York City, which is a far cry from my little ol’ town, that’s for sure. They got tall buildin’s that scratch the sky, and more cars than I got chickens. It’s a whole different world, and Sebastian, he’s tryin’ to figure out his place in it. He’s gotta deal with bein’ a succubus, which ain’t easy, I bet, and findin’ his way in a place where nobody knows his name.
- It’s about a succubus named Sebastian.
- He moves to New York City.
- He’s lonely at first.
- Then he meets Finn.
- And things get… complicated.
Now, I ain’t gonna spoil the whole thing for ya, but there’s a lot more to it. There’s magic, and romance, and probably some city slickers causin’ trouble. It’s like one of them soap operas my daughter watches, but with more, you know… magic and stuff.
This “Sam Burns Succubus and the City” book, it’s part of somethin’ bigger, they call it the “Rowan Harbor Cycle”. Sounds fancy, huh? Like a bunch of stories all connected, kinda like how all the roads in my town lead back to the general store. I ain’t read the other ones, but I reckon they’re all about this Sebastian fella and his adventures.
Folks say Sam Burns, the fella who wrote this book, is a good storyteller. I gotta agree. He makes ya care about Sebastian, even though he’s a succubus, which, let’s be honest, sounds kinda spooky. But he’s just a fella tryin’ to find his way, just like the rest of us, even if he does it with a little bit of magic.
This book is one of those urban fantasy things. That just means it’s got magic and stuff, but it’s happenin’ in a city, not some far-off land with dragons and fairies. Though, New York City, with all them tall buildings and fancy cars, might as well be a far-off land to me. It’s a story about fittin’ in, findin’ love, and maybe, just maybe, acceptin’ who you are, even if you’re a little bit…different.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a good read, somethin’ a little different, somethin’ with a bit of spice and a whole lotta heart, then maybe you should give this “Sam Burns Succubus and the City” a try. It ain’t like nothin’ I’ve ever read before, that’s for sure. And hey, if a simple old woman like me can enjoy it, then I reckon just about anybody can.
Now, I gotta go feed them chickens. They’re probably wonderin’ where I got off to. But you remember what I told ya ’bout this book, alright? It’s a good one, even if it’s got a funny name and a fella who’s a little… unusual.
