Alright, let’s talk about this “the show 24 crossplay” thing, ya know? My grandson, he’s always yappin’ about it. Says it’s a big deal, playin’ with folks on different thingamajigs.
So, what’s it all mean? Well, from what I gather, it means if you got a PlayStation and your buddy’s got an Xbox, you can still play together. Ain’t that somethin’? Back in my day, we just played catch in the yard, no fancy boxes needed.
Now, how do you get this crossplay thing workin’? Seems simple enough, even for an old gal like me. First, you gotta go into them “settings.” You know, the place where you fiddle with all the buttons and switches. Find the “crossplay” option and turn it on. Gotta flip that switch, or nothin’s gonna happen.
- Go to settings
- Find “crossplay” option
- Turn “crossplay” on
Then, you gotta add your friend. Not in real life, mind you, but on that there game. There’s a friends list, they say. Add your buddy’s name, or whatever they call themselves online these days. Kids and their silly names, I tell ya.
Once you got your friend added, you can invite ’em to play. Go to that “multiplayer lobby” thing, find your friend’s name, and start the game. Sounds easy enough, like makin’ biscuits, just gotta follow the steps. And don’t forget, both of you gotta have that crossplay thing turned on, or it ain’t gonna work. Like tryin’ to milk a dry cow, ain’t nothin’ gonna come out.
They say this works on all the new game boxes. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox… whatever they call ’em. Even the old and new PlayStations can play together. That’s what they call “cross-gen” play. Sounds fancy, but it just means the old and new can get along. Like me and my grandkids, I guess.
Now, about them saves… you know, where you keep your game progress. Well, they ain’t gonna carry over from last year’s game. You gotta start fresh, like plantin’ new seeds in the spring. But that’s alright, gives you somethin’ to do.
And what about them fancy stadiums and logos? You know, the stuff you make to personalize your game? Well, they say those will transfer over from the old game to the new one. That’s good, saves you some work. Ain’t nobody got time to be re-doin’ all that stuff.
So, is this crossplay a good thing? Well, I reckon so. Lets folks play together, even if they got different toys. That’s neighborly, ain’t it? Like sharin’ a pie at the county fair. And it seems easy enough to set up, even for someone who ain’t too tech-savvy.
Just remember, turn on that crossplay switch, add your friends, and you’re good to go. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about games has made me hungry. And remember, it’s just a game. Don’t get your britches in a twist if things don’t go your way. There’s more important things in life, like family and good food.
And one last thing, that invite to play, it shows up in the game, not on your Xbox or PlayStation menu. Don’t go looking in the wrong spot like a lost chicken in the woods.
Anyway, that’s the long and short of it, as far as I can tell. Now go on and have some fun, and don’t forget to call your grandma once in a while.
