Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about somethin’ called the “Masters Tournament,” happened back in 2022. Sounds fancy, huh? Don’t you worry none, I’ll make it plain as day.

They got this thing called a “par.” Means you hit the ball just the right number of times to get it in the hole on each part of the golf place. Like, some holes they say you should get it in three hits, some four, some five. If you do it in that many hits, that’s a par. Get it? Not too hard, right?
So, How Many Pars in 2022?
Now, the real question is, how many of them pars did them fellas make in 2022? Well, that’s what we’re here to figure out. See, they played a bunch of rounds, four days they was out there hittin’ that ball. First two days, 89 players, then they cut it down to 50 for Saturday and Sunday. Lots of chances to make a par.
- Them smart folks with their calculators say there was like, 5,004 possible pars. That’s a whole lotta pars, y’all!
- But them fellas don’t always make par, sometimes they hit it too much, sometimes they lucky and get it in less.
Last year, in 2022, they made 3,029 pars. That’s a big number, ain’t it? Means them fellas were pretty good at hittin’ that ball the right number of times. On the last day alone, they made 531 pars, about 10 pars per fella. See, they gettin’ the hang of it.
Some Holes Are Tougher Than Others
Now, some of them holes, they tricky. Like that number 11 hole. It’s a par-4, meanin’ you supposed to get it in four hits. But that hole, it’s mean! Them fellas only made 168 pars on that hole the whole time. Lots of ’em took more than four hits, I bet. But they got birdies too, that’s when you get it in one less than par. They had 94 birdies on that tough hole. Shows you, even when it’s hard, they still tryin’ their best.
Why We Care ‘Bout Pars?
You might be thinkin’, “Why you tellin’ me all this par stuff?” Well, it’s just interestin’, seein’ how them fellas do. And it tells you how hard that golf place is. If there’s a lot of pars, it means the course is playin’ fair, maybe. If there’s not so many, it means it’s tough as nails.

So, there you have it. In 2022, at the Masters, them fellas made a whole bunch of pars, 3,029 of ’em to be exact. They played hard, some holes were tough, some were easier, but they all tried their best to get that little white ball in the hole.
