Alright, so you wanna know ’bout this Ben Shelton fella and his tennis stuff, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know, the way I know how.
This young fella, Ben Shelton, he’s a tennis player, plays real good, like them folks on the TV. He’s got all this fancy gear, clothes and shoes and whatnot. Folks are always lookin’ at what them tennis stars wear, wanna be like ’em, I guess.
Now, this Ben, he used to wear Nike and New Balance shoes, ya know, them big brands. But then, this Swiss company, called “On,” they started makin’ his clothes and shoes. Happened in 2023, I think. They make him wear all sorts of stuff, colorful stuff, pink and blue they say. He wears these shoes called “Roger Pro 2,” sounds fancy, don’t it?
And the racket, oh boy, that’s important! He’s been fiddlin’ around with different rackets and strings, can’t make up his mind, kinda like my grandson with his toys. But it seems like he’s settled on this “Yonex Ezone 98” racket. Puts different strings in it, tight ones and not-so-tight ones, 57 pounds and 54 pounds, they say. I don’t know nothin’ about that, sounds like weighin’ chickens to me.
- Shoes: He wears On brand shoes, Roger Pro 2.
- Clothes: Colorful stuff, pink and blue, also from On.
- Racket: Yonex Ezone 98.
- Strings: Yonex Poly Tour Strike and Yonex Poly Tour Pro.
This On company, they got other players wearin’ their stuff too. There’s this lady, Iga somethin’-or-other, she wears their shoes too. They make special shoes for her, comin’ out next year, 2024, they say. She used to wear somethin’ called “Asics Gel Resolution 9.” See, these players, they change their stuff all the time.
People wanna dress like Ben Shelton, I hear. They sell his gear, rackets and shoes and all that. Even got pickleball shoes, whatever that is. And strings, you can buy his strings too. He’s a popular fella, this Ben. His daddy, Bryan Shelton, he played tennis too, pretty good, they say. Taught Ben how to play, just like how I taught my kids how to bake bread.
So, if you wanna dress like Ben Shelton, you gotta get yourself some On brand clothes and shoes, that Roger Pro 2 thing. And get that Yonex racket, Ezone 98. And the strings, don’t forget the strings. But let me tell ya, it ain’t the clothes that make the player. It’s the practice, the hard work, like bakin’ a good pie, gotta put in the time and effort. This Ben fella, he’s good ‘cause he practices, not just ‘cause he’s got fancy clothes. You remember that now.
And don’t go spendin’ all your money on this stuff, ya hear? Just wear what’s comfortable and get out there and play. That’s the important thing. Have fun, run around, hit the ball. That’s what matters, not how you look. Just like makin’ a quilt, it ain’t about the fancy stitches, it’s about keepin’ you warm.
