Alright, let’s talk about this David Clanton golf thing. I ain’t no fancy golf expert, mind you. Just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two. But I can tell ya, this golf stuff, it ain’t just whacking a ball and hoping for the best. There’s more to it than that, seems like.
Now, I heard tell that young Luke Clanton, he’s a golfer. Plays for some college team, Florida State, I think they call it. His daddy, David Clanton, he’s a hard worker. Landscaper, they say. Holds down three jobs, can ya believe it? Must be workin’ his tail off to support that boy’s golf dreams. That’s what daddies do, I reckon.
So, this golf, it ain’t cheap, I’m guessin’. You gotta have lessons, seems like. And not just any lessons, but good ones. They say findin’ the right teacher is key. Someone who can really help ya, not just take your money and run. Like, one-on-one teachin’, that’s what they say is best. No big group classes where you get lost in the shuffle.
And it ain’t just about swingin’ the club, though that’s important too, I s’pose. They got all sorts of fancy clubs, seems like. Different ones for different things. Like this David Clanton, he uses all kinds of irons. TaylorMade, they call ’em. P7MB, P760, P770… sounds like gibberish to me, but I guess it matters to them golfers.
And then there’s this trainin’ and certificatin’ stuff. The PGA, they got some program, so I hear. Costs money, of course. Two hundred dollars, they say. That’s a lot of money for some trainin’, if you ask me. But I guess if you wanna be a real golf pro, you gotta do what you gotta do.
- Golf Lessons: Seems like everybody needs ’em. And they gotta be personalized, not just some cookie-cutter thing. They say online lessons are a thing now too. Can ya believe it? Learnin’ golf on the computer. What will they think of next?
- Coaching: Not just lessons, but coachin’. Someone to guide ya, help ya get better. They use fancy technology, I hear. Apps and stuff. Analyze your swing, they say. Sounds complicated to me.
- Equipment: Like I said, those fancy clubs. And it ain’t just the clubs, it’s the balls, the shoes, the clothes… It all adds up, I tell ya. Expensive hobby, this golf.
They got these golf academies, too. Like this David Fritz fella, he’s got one. Teaches all levels, they say. From beginners to folks who wanna get better. And they do it in all sorts of places. Oakville, Richmond Hill… Sounds fancy.
And then there’s this MyGame+ thing. Sounds like some kinda high-tech coachin’ program. Keeps track of your progress, helps ya figure out what you need to work on. All this technology, it makes my head spin. Back in my day, we just hit the ball and hoped for the best.
But I guess that’s how things are now. Everything’s gotta be high-tech and personalized. And if you wanna be good at golf, you gotta put in the time, the effort, and the money. It ain’t just a game, it’s a serious business, seems like. So, whether you’re just startin’ out or tryin’ to get better, it’s all about findin’ the right help and puttin’ in the work. That’s what I reckon, anyway.
So, if you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ into golf, or if you’re already playin’ and want to improve, remember what I said. Find a good teacher, get the right equipment, and be prepared to work hard. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll be the next David Clanton… or at least have a good time tryin’. That’s what matters, I think. Just havin’ a good time.
Now offering golf lessons, that’s what the sign said. It’s becoming a big business. More and more folks getting into it or trying to improve their skills, you know.
Whether you’re teeing off for the first time or striving to improve, it all boils down to finding the right help and putting in the work. Making it easier and enjoyable is the key, I guess. GolfTEC Plano, that’s another place offering lessons, they got some high tech stuff too.
