Alright, alright, let’s talk about this… this Lingyang fella, whatever his name is. Sounds like one of them fancy names them city folks use. They tell me he’s a big deal in some game, “Wuthering Waves” they call it. Sounds like a washing machine gone wild to me, but hey, what do I know?
Now, they say this Lingyang, he’s a lion dancer. A lion dancer! Can you believe it? Back in my day, lions were for fearin’, not for dancin’ with. But I guess times change, huh? They tell me he’s got this electrifyin’ “Liondance,” supposed to make you feel all happy and not scared no more. Sounds like a load of hooey to me, but folks seem to like it.
What’s he all about, this Lingyang? Well, from what I gather, he’s some foreigner, come to visit the humans. A visitor, they say. Kind of like when my cousin Jebediah came visitin’ from the city, only Jebediah didn’t dance with no lions, just ate all my biscuits. Anyway, this Lingyang, he joined up with this Liondance Troupe in some place called Jinzhou. Sounds foreign, probably is.
They tell me he’s a powerful fella in that there game, one of the strongest “Glacio” damage dealers. Glacio? Sounds like some fancy ice cream flavor. But apparently, it means he’s good at fightin’ with ice or somethin’. Lord knows how you fight with ice, but these young folks, they come up with all sorts of crazy things.
Now, if you wanna use this Lingyang fella in your game, you gotta set him up right, they say. You need the right weapon, whatever that means. And “Echoes,” they call ’em. Sounds like ghosts to me, but I reckon it’s somethin’ else entirely. Probably some fancy game stuff I don’t understand. They even got a whole table for the best team with him. Team! Like he’s playin’ baseball or somethin’. He attacks the target, they say. Well, I should hope so, what else would he do, bake ’em a cake?
- He’s a strong fighter, they say. One of the best, apparently.
- He’s got a unique voice. I guess that’s important in these games. Folks say you’d know it’s him right away. Like my cousin Jebediah’s snore, you could hear that a mile away.
- He’s got his own quest. A whole story just about him. Sounds like a lot of fuss for a lion dancer, if you ask me. But folks seem to enjoy it. They even make videos of it, playin’ through the whole thing. Kids these days got too much time on their hands.
They got this whole “subreddit” thing dedicated to him, whatever that is. Sounds like a bunch of folks sittin’ around talkin’ about this Lingyang fella all day long. Theorizin’, they call it. And makin’ art. Art! Of a lion dancer! Well, I guess there’s somethin’ for everyone these days.
And they say he’s popular in Japan. Japan! That’s way across the ocean, ain’t it? Imagine that, a lion dancer from Jinzhou, famous all the way in Japan. The world’s a strange place, I tell ya.
So, that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. This Lingyang fella, he’s a lion dancin’, ice-fightin’ character in some game, and folks seem to like him a whole lot. They talk about him, they make art about him, they play with him in their games. Me? I’ll stick to my biscuits and my garden, thank you very much. But hey, if it makes ’em happy, who am I to judge?
In the end, he is just a bunch of pixels on a screen, ain’t he? But it seems like he brings joy to some folks, and I guess that ain’t a bad thing. Just don’t expect me to understand it all.
