Alright, let’s talk about this Maxi Kleber fella and his girlfriend, or whatever they call it these young folks nowadays. I heard some things, you know, from the TV and such. They say he plays some kind of ball game, basketball they call it, for a team in Dallas. Dallas Mavericks, that’s the one.
Now, this Maxi, he’s a big fella, real tall, like a beanpole but stronger, you see. They say he’s 6 foot 10 inches, that’s taller than my old barn door! He wears a shirt with number 42 on it, probably so folks don’t lose him on that big court. And he gets paid a whole heap of money for throwin’ that ball around, somethin’ like 9 million dollars a year! Can you believe that? Makes my head spin.
Anyway, the real juicy part is about his girl. Seems like this big fella ain’t lonely. They say her name is Brittany Gibson. Pretty name, ain’t it? I heard she used to be one of them cheerleader girls, you know, the ones who jump around and shout at those ball games. Used to cheer for some place called TCU, whatever that is.
They say Brittany is a real looker, a beautiful girl, as the young folks say. And she and Maxi, well, they seem to be stuck on each other like glue. There’s pictures of them all over the place, on that internet thingy, you know, the one where everyone puts their business. They call it social media, sounds fancy but it’s just pictures and gossip mostly. Lots of pictures of them together, smiling and whatnot. They look happy, I guess. Though, I don’t know why they need to show everyone their lovey-dovey stuff. Back in my day, you kept those things private.

But I reckon times are different now. They seem happy enough, though, from what I can tell from those pictures. Always smilin’ and huggin’. Makes you wonder if they’ll ever settle down and get hitched for real, you know, have some little basketball players running around.
Maxi, he’s from Germany, some place called Wurzburg. That’s a long way from Texas, I tell you what. He came over here to play this basketball, and it seems like he’s doin’ pretty good for himself. Found himself a pretty girl and a good job, can’t ask for much more, can ya?
I don’t know much about this basketball stuff, but I do know a thing or two about people. And these two, Maxi and Brittany, they seem like they got a good thing going. Hope they stay happy, them kids. It ain’t easy finding someone to share your life with, especially when you’re always in the public eye like that. Always folks watchin’ and gossipin’. Makes a body tired just thinkin’ about it. But they seem to be handling it alright, them young’uns.
