Alright, so you wanna know about them Cavs, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, I ain’t no fancy sports person, but I watch them games sometimes. My grandson, he loves them Cavs, always yelling at the TV, “Go Cavs Go!” So, I pick up a thing or two.
Cavs Score, Cavs Win? Sometimes, Yeah. Sometimes, no. That’s how it goes, right? Like, one day they’re whoopin’ some team, I dunno, the Wizards or somethin’, by like a whole bunch, like 118 to 87. Heard the coach, Kenny somethin’-somethin’, talkin’ after that game. Sounded happy enough.
Then, another day, they’re barely squeakin’ by. Like that time with the Nets, almost lost that one, 105 to 100. My grandson, he was sweatin’ bullets! Me too, kinda, cause when they lose, he gets all grumpy and don’t eat his supper.
Then there’s this Donovan Mitchell fella. Boy, can he score! Heard he got like 28 points one game. And that other guy, Darius somethin’, he got 24. They beat them Nuggets, 126 to 114, I think. At home, too. They’re pretty good at home, my grandson says. Says they only lost like one game at home or somethin’.
- The Players: Like I said, there’s Donovan and Darius. They’re the ones I hear about the most. They seem important.
- Winning and Losing: They win some, they lose some. That’s basketball, I guess. Just like life, sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down.
- Watching the Game: I mostly just watch on TV. My grandson explains things to me, like why they’re throwin’ that ball around so much.
They play all sorts of teams, you know. The Knicks, that’s one. And the Nets, like I said. My grandson, he knows all the teams. He reads all that stuff online, ESPN or whatever it’s called. He’s always yellin’ about “live scores” and “highlights.” I just watch the game, eat my popcorn. Sometimes the Cavs are winning, sometimes they ain’t.
What time do they play? Well, that depends. Sometimes it’s early, sometimes it’s late. Weekends, they might play in the afternoon. My grandson, he knows the schedule. He always tells me, “Grandma, the Cavs are on tonight!” Then he gets all excited and wears his Cavs shirt.
I heard they play in somethin’ called the Central Division. And somethin’ else called the Eastern Conference. Sounds fancy, huh? I don’t know much about all that. All I know is they gotta put that ball in the basket more than the other team. That’s how you win, ain’t it?
And the doors to the place they play, they open early sometimes. Like 75 minutes before the game starts. Or 90 minutes, if it’s on a weekend. My grandson, he’s always dreamin’ of goin’ to a game. Maybe one day I’ll take him. If them Cavs keep winnin’, maybe I’ll even buy him one of them jerseys.
So, that’s what I know about the Cavs scores. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Just like life, you know? You win some, you lose some. But as long as my grandson is happy, I’m happy. And he’s happy when the Cavs win. Go Cavs Go, I guess!
They’re always talkin’ about basketball on the news, even when it’s not the Cavs playing. Football, baseball, hockey… all them sports. My grandson, he tries to explain it all to me, but I just can’t keep up. Too many players, too many rules. But the Cavs, I know them. They’re Cleveland’s team, right?
So there ya have it, my take on the Cavs. Not much, I know. But I tried. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some dinner. Maybe I’ll make my grandson somethin’ special tonight, specially if them Cavs won.
