Alright, let’s talk about them golf ladies, the ones on the TV. The LPGA, they call it. I heard folks wonderin’ how far they smack that little white ball. Well, I ain’t no expert, but I done heard some things and seen some stuff on that there television.
First off, them ladies, they ain’t as strong as the men, that’s for sure. You see them fellas on the PGA, they hit it a country mile. Them LPGA gals, they hit it pretty good too, just not quite as far. I heard tell they smack the driver, that’s the big stick, around 220 yards, maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less. Some of them young’uns, they really wallop it, I tell ya.
- Driver: Around 220 yards, give or take. Some hit it further, some not so far.
- 3-wood: Maybe 180 yards or so. Good for when you need to go far but not too far, you know?
- Hybrid: That’s like a small wood, I think. Around 160 yards, they say.
- 7-iron: Now we’re gettin’ closer to the green. Maybe 130 yards with this one.
- Pitching Wedge: For those little short shots near the green. Around 100 yards, I reckon.
Now, that’s just what I heard. Some of them ladies, they hit it further, some hit it shorter. It all depends on how strong they are, how good they swing, and what kinda club they usin’. And don’t forget those golf courses are long, real long, like 6400 yards they say. That’s a lot of walkin’ if you ask me.
I saw this thing on TV, some fancy machine they call a “Trackman.” Said them LPGA ladies swing that driver at 96 miles per hour! Can you imagine? That’s faster than my old pickup truck goes! And that ball, it goes flyin’ at 143 miles per hour! Lands 26 yards up in the air, they said. Land softly like a bird, they do. Well, most of the time.
They got these other golfers, the amateurs, you know, the ones who just play for fun. They don’t hit it as far as them pros. Makes sense, I guess. Them pros, they practice all day long. The fellas who ain’t pros, they hit the driver maybe 210 yards, and them irons not as far neither. Still pretty good, if you ask me. Better than I could ever do.
Compared to the men on the PGA tour, them LPGA ladies don’t hit it as far. Them PGA fellas, they can smack it 280, 300 yards, sometimes even further! Their 3-wood goes further too, and their 5-iron goes about as far as a lady’s 3-wood. It’s just different, you know? Men are stronger, that’s all there is to it.
But don’t you go thinkin’ them LPGA ladies ain’t good. They are darn good! They gotta be accurate, gotta be smart, gotta know how to play the game. It ain’t all about hitting it far, you know. It’s about gettin’ that little ball in the hole in as few strokes as possible. And them ladies, they sure know how to do that. I seen ‘em on the TV doin’ just that. Makes me proud, it does.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about how far them LPGA ladies hit the ball. It ain’t perfect, but it’s close enough for government work, as they say. Just remember, it ain’t all about distance. It’s about skill, and them ladies got plenty of that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper.
