Well, let me tell ya, is the Olympics on that Sirius radio thing? Folks keep askin’ me, so I figured I’d try and figure it out for ya.
What’s this SiriusXM Radio, anyway? Sounds fancy, like somethin’ city folks use. From what I hear, it’s like one of them radios, but it gets all sorts of channels from up in the sky, not just from here in town. Like magic, almost. They say you can listen to all kinds of things, even sports games and talk shows, all from that little box. Land sakes, I remember when we only had that old crackly radio in the kitchen, and we were happy just to hear the news and some scratchy music.
Now, about them Olympics. That’s a big deal, ain’t it? All them young folks runnin’ and jumpin’ and swimmin’. It’s on TV, sure, but I hear tell some folks like to listen on the radio while they’re drivin’ around or workin’ in the garden. So, can you listen to the Olympics on that Sirius thing?
From what I gathered, yes siree, you can! Seems like they have special channels, just for the Olympics, when they’re on. They call it “dedicatin’ a channel,” like they’re givin’ it a whole room just for that. Imagine that! A whole channel just for watchin’…well, listenin’ to them young’uns play their games.
- They say they have all sorts of stuff on it, too. Not just the games themselves, but talk shows about the games, and maybe even interviews with them athletes. I tell ya, it’s a whole heap of stuff.
- And it ain’t just for the big summer games, neither. Sounds like they might do it for the winter games, too. You know, the ones where they slide around on the ice and snow. Brrr, makes me cold just thinkin’ about it.
Now, I hear some of the games might be on other channels, too. Like them news channels, CNBC and MSNBC. They say those channels are also on that Sirius thing, so if the games are on TV there, you might be able to hear ’em on the radio, too. It’s like gettin’ a two-for-one deal, I reckon.
So how do you get this Sirius thing? Well, I ain’t too sure about that. Sounds like you gotta pay for it, like them cable TVs. And you need a special radio, one of them fancy satellite ones. Not like the one I got sittin’ on the kitchen counter, that’s for sure. But if you’re a big sports fan, and you like listenin’ to games while you’re on the go, it might be worth it, I guess. It ain’t my cup of tea, though. I’d rather just sit on the porch and watch the birds, myself. But to each their own, I always say.
Anyways, that’s what I’ve heard about the Olympics bein’ on that there Sirius radio. Sounds like a lot of fuss for some games, but folks seem to like it. And if you’re one of them folks who likes listenin’ to the games on the radio, then that Sirius thing might be just the ticket for ya.
And besides the Olympics? Well, sounds like that Sirius doohickey has all sorts of sports on it. Football, basketball, baseball, even that soccer stuff them youngsters like so much. They say if it’s sports, it’s on SiriusXM. So, if you’re a sports nut, it sounds like you’d be in hog heaven with that thing. But me? I’ll stick to my birds and my porch swing. That’s enough excitement for this old gal.
So there you have it. A whole lot of jabberin’ about that SiriusXM and them Olympics. Hope it makes some sense to ya. It sure gave my old brain a workout, I’ll tell ya that much.
