Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this here “lol championship schedule” thing. I heard them young’uns blabberin’ about it, so I figured I’d try and make some sense of it for ya.
So, this big ol’ game competition, they call it “Worlds” or somethin’, it’s gonna start on September 25th, 2024. That’s what they said, anyhow. And it goes all the way to November 2nd. Two whole months of these kids clickin’ and tappin’ on their computery boxes. I tell ya, they got more patience than a hen sittin’ on a glass egg.
Now, what’s this “Worlds” thing all about? Well, from what I gathered, it’s like the Super Bowl of this here “League of Legends” game. You know, that game where them fancy characters run around and fight each other. My grandson, he plays it all the time. Says it’s about strategy and teamwork, but all I see is a bunch of flashing lights and noise.
- Start Date: September 25, 2024
- End Date: November 2, 2024
Anyways, this championship, it ain’t just one game, no sir. It’s a whole bunch of games. They got this thing called the “Play-In” at the start, which is like the tryouts, I guess. Then the real matches start, and teams from all over the world, they go head-to-head.
They got folks yellin’ about it on the TV and the internet too. “Casters,” they call ’em. Sounds like they’re fishin’ to me, but they ain’t catchin’ no fish, just words. They got these official places where you can watch, like on something called “Twitch” and “YouTube”. My grandson showed me. Looks like a bunch of gibberish to me, but he seems to understand it.
This year, they’re havin’ the big final game, the one that decides the whole shebang, in London, England. That’s across the big water, you know. In a place called “The O2 Arena”. Sounds fancy, huh? They’re doin’ it on November 2nd, so that’s the day to watch if you wanna see who wins the whole thing. But remember I already told you that, didn’t I? Well, it bears repeatin’ for you slow pokes.
Now, I don’t know much about these games. Can’t tell a “Garen” from a “Teemo” or whatever them characters are called. But I do know one thing: these kids, they take it real serious. They practice all day and night, and they get real worked up about winnin’. Reminds me of that pie-eatin’ contest they had down at the county fair last year. Folks got real competitive over them pies, let me tell ya.
So, if you’re lookin’ for the schedule, you gotta go on that “lolesports” website. My grandson showed me. It’s got all the dates and times and who’s playin’ who. But good luck makin’ sense of it, it’s a whole lotta numbers and letters and whatnots.
They also said somethin’ about the next year’s championship being announced durin’ the broadcast of last year’s finals which took place in November 2023. They sure do plan ahead, don’t they? More organized than my pantry, that’s for sure.
Anyways, that’s the gist of it. “Lol championship schedule,” September 25th to November 2nd, big final game in London, watch it on Twitch or YouTube, and don’t ask me no more questions ’cause my head’s already spinnin’ from all this talk about computer games. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens.
And another thing, if these youngsters spent half as much time milkin’ cows as they do playin’ this here “League of Legends” we’d all be swimmin’ in milk. But then again, times have changed, I guess. They don’t appreciate a good day’s work in the fields like we used to.
So, mark your calendars, if you’re into that kind of thing. September 25th, that’s when it all starts. And if you see my grandson glued to that screen, just leave him be. He’s “strategizin’”, he says. I just hope he’s strategizin’ how to get a real job one of these days.
But I digress. The important thing is the dates, right? September to November. Got it? Good. Now go on and do somethin’ useful with your time.
