Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Sierra Lango, or whatever her name is. I don’t know her from Adam, but the young’uns told me to talk about her, so here I go.
This Sierra girl, she done changed her life around, they say. Used to be stuck in some office, all stressed out, like a hen in a fox den. Now she’s out there coachin’ them soccer kids and helpin’ out some new business. Good for her, I say. Ain’t nothin’ worse than bein’ stuck doin’ somethin’ you hate. Reminds me of that time I had to work in the pickle factory… Lord, that smell! But that’s another story for another day.
Anyways, this Sierra, she got herself a bunch of followers on them computery things, you know, the facespace and the twitters and whatnots. I don’t understand it myself, but seems like folks like listenin’ to her. And now she’s workin’ with them big companies, makin’ money, I reckon. Smart girl, she is.
- They say she used to be real down in the dumps.
- Anxious, they called it. Like she was waitin’ for the other shoe to drop all the time.
- Didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life. We all been there, ain’t we?
But then she figured somethin’ out, this “five-second rule” they talk about. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but hey, if it worked for her, more power to her. Guess it means she just started doin’ things instead of sittin’ around and frettin’. Like when you gotta pluck a chicken, you just gotta grab it and get to pluckin’, ain’t no use in thinkin’ too much about it.
Now, they say she’s all about success. Success this, success that. Everybody’s talkin’ about success these days. What does it all mean, anyway? Back in my day, success was havin’ a good crop and keepin’ the chickens safe from the coyotes. But I guess things are different now. This Sierra girl, she’s tryin’ to tell folks how to be successful, whatever that means in this newfangled world.
She talks about settin’ goals and makin’ good habits. Like brushin’ your teeth and makin’ your bed, I guess. But more than that, I think she’s talkin’ about figurin’ out what you want and then goin’ after it. Like that time I wanted that blue ribbon at the county fair for my apple pie. I practiced and practiced, and I got it! That’s what success felt like to me.
And this Sierra, she ain’t the only one they talkin’ about. They got this other Sierra too, Sierra Capri they call her. She’s on them TV shows, actin’ and such. Born in Baltimore, they say. Young thing, just a whippersnapper compared to me. But she made it big too, I guess. Shows you can come from anywhere and do somethin’ with yourself.
It’s all about the journey, they say. Not just the end, but how you get there. Like plantin’ a seed and watchin’ it grow. You gotta water it and take care of it, and sometimes the bugs get to it, but you keep at it. And eventually, if you’re lucky, you get a nice big tomato or a pretty flower. That’s the kinda success I understand.
So, this Sierra Lango, she’s tellin’ folks how to grow their own tomatoes, so to speak. How to get from where they are to where they wanna be. And that’s a good thing, I reckon. We all need a little help sometimes, even if we don’t always understand all this modern talk. As long as she’s helpin’ folks, that’s all that matters.
At the end of the day, it ain’t about the fame or the money, it’s about findin’ somethin’ that makes you happy and then workin’ hard at it. That’s what I always say. And if this Sierra girl can help folks do that, then bless her heart.
So that’s about all I got to say about Sierra Lango. She seems like a hard worker, and that’s good enough for me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens.
