Alright, alright, let’s talk about this… uh… what’s her name? Angela Lee? Yeah, Angela Lee and her golf thing. I don’t know much about golf, you know? It ain’t like plantin’ corn or feedin’ chickens. But I heard some things, seen some things on that telly-vision, so I’ll tell ya what I know.
So, this Angela girl, she’s pretty good at hittin’ that little white ball, I guess. They say she went to some fancy school, Stanford somethin’ or other. Smart girl, huh? Probably smarter than me when it comes to books, but I bet she can’t tell a good weed from a bean sprout! Anyways, she played golf there, between… let me see… 2016 and 2019. That’s a long time swingin’ them sticks, I tell ya.
They got this big golf show, the U.S. Women’s Open. Sounds important, like a county fair but for golfin’. This Angela, she’s been in that thing six times now. Six times! That’s a lot of walkin’ around in the sun, chasin’ that little ball. I bet she gets thirsty. I hope they give her plenty of water. You gotta stay hydrated, especially when you’re workin’ hard, whether you’re hoein’ the fields or… golfin’, I guess.
Now, golf, it ain’t a team sport like baseball, where you gotta work together. Golf is more… lonely. You’re out there by yourself, just you and that ball. It’s like when you’re pickin’ berries in the woods. Just you and the bushes. But I heard there’s other girls playin’ too. These… Hou sisters? And Korda girls? Sounds like a whole family affair. Like when my cousins come over for the harvest. Lots of people, lots of chatter.
- Angela Lee played golf at Stanford University.
- She’s been in the U.S. Women’s Open six times.
- There are other famous golfin’ families, like the Hous and the Kordas.
I don’t know what makes a good golfer, you know? Is it how far you hit the ball? Is it how straight it goes? Is it how many times you get it in that little hole? It’s all a mystery to me. But I guess if you keep doin’ it, and you get on TV, you must be pretty good. Angela Lee, she must be pretty good then.
This golf thing, it’s a whole different world from mine. They got their own language, their own rules, their own fancy clothes. I stick to my overalls and my gardenin’ gloves. But hey, everybody’s gotta do somethin’, right? Angela Lee swings her clubs, I dig in the dirt. We both work hard, that’s for sure. And at the end of the day, we’re both tired and ready for some supper.
So, that’s all I know about Angela Lee and her golfin’. Not much, I admit. But I tried my best to tell it to ya straight. No fancy words, no complicated talk. Just plain and simple, like a good home-cooked meal. And if you wanna know more, well, you go ask somebody who knows more than an old woman like me! Maybe go watch her on the TV, see for yourself how she swings them clubs. Just remember to bring a glass of lemonade, it’s thirsty work watchin’ people work hard, even if it’s just…golfin’.
And that’s the truth, as sure as I’m standin’ here. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my tomatoes. They ain’t gonna water themselves, you know.
One last thing, this golfin’ thing seems like it takes a lot of practice. You can’t just pick up a club and be good at it right away. It’s like learnin’ to bake a good pie. You gotta do it over and over again, until you get it just right. I bet Angela Lee spent hours and hours practicin’ her swing, hittin’ thousands of those little white balls. That’s dedication, I tell ya. You gotta respect that, even if you don’t understand it.
So, there you have it. My two cents on Angela Lee and the world of golf. It ain’t much, but it’s honest. And sometimes, that’s all you need.
