Alright, let’s yak about this fella, Coach Scott Drew. I don’t know much about basketball, ya know, just what I see on the TV sometimes when the menfolk are watchin’. But I hear this Coach Drew is a big deal, so let’s see what all the fuss is about.
Who is this Coach Drew fella anyway? Well, from what I gather, he’s the coach of some basketball team called the Baylor Bears. Sounds like a bunch of wild animals to me, haha! But these Bears, they ain’t just any team, they’re pretty darn good, or so they say. They even won some big championship a few years back, in 2021, I think it was. People call it one of the “greatest rebuilds” in college basketball history. Imagine that, rebuildin’ somethin’ with basketball! Musta been a real mess before, I reckon.
Now, some folks are sayin’ Coach Drew is one of the best coaches around. They throw around names like Erik Spoelstra, and Steve Kerr, and Ty Lue. I don’t know who these fellas are, but I guess they’re good coaches too. So, if Coach Drew is bein’ mentioned with them, he must be doin’ somethin’ right, you know?
- He seems to know how to make his team win. That’s what everyone keeps saying. Win this and win that. Must be nice to win all the time.
- He took a team that wasn’t very good and made them champions. That’s what they call a “rebuild” I guess. Like fixin’ up an old barn, but with basketball players instead of wood and nails.
- People are talkin’ about him goin’ to other teams, even fancier ones like the Kentucky Wildcats. Sounds like a wild bunch too! But he seems happy where he is at Baylor, with his Bears.
I heard tell that some folks were whisperin’ about him bein’ a coach for another team, somethin’ called a “power conference level.” Sounds fancy, huh? Like them big city folk with their fancy cars and their fancy ways. But Coach Drew, he seems like a down-to-earth kinda fella, even if he is coachin’ these college boys.
One thing I did hear on the radio, some fella named Jon Rothstein was talkin’ to another fella named Pope. Now, this Pope fella, he used to play for them Wildcats and they were lookin’ for a new coach. Folks were sayin’ maybe Coach Drew was gonna go, but seems like Pope said he was happy where he was. So, I guess Coach Drew ain’t goin’ anywhere just yet.
So, what makes Coach Drew so good? Well, I ain’t no expert, but from what I hear, he’s a real motivator. He gets them boys playin’ hard and playin’ together. And he knows how to teach ‘em the game, I guess. He makes ‘em tough, that’s what they say. He gets them bears playin’ tough and winnin’ games.
Baylor’s top under Drew. That’s somethin’ they said on the TV. Means his team is the best I reckon. That’s gotta make folks happy, all them fans and alumni, cheerin’ for the Bears and Coach Drew. It’s like when the prize pig wins at the county fair, everyone’s happy, especially the farmer who raised it.
Anyways, that’s about all I know about Coach Scott Drew. He seems like a good man, a hard worker, and a darn good basketball coach. He’s made them Baylor Bears somethin’ special, and folks seem to respect him for it. And that’s a good thing, ain’t it? In this world, it’s good to see folks doin’ well and makin’ somethin’ of themselves. Whether it’s coachin’ basketball or raisin’ hogs, it’s all about hard work and dedication, that’s what I always say.
So, next time you hear about Coach Scott Drew and them Baylor Bears, you’ll know a little somethin’ about ‘em. They’re winners, and that’s thanks to their coach. And that’s all there is to it, plain and simple.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens. They ain’t winnin’ no championships, but they do lay some mighty fine eggs, and that’s good enough for me.
Coach Drew is stayin’ put. That’s what matters, seems like. He’s stickin’ with his Bears, and that’s somethin’ to be admired in this day and age, when everyone’s always jumpin’ around from one thing to another. Loyalty, that’s what it’s called, and it’s a good thing to have, whether you’re a basketball coach or just a plain old woman like me.
