Like a couple of young birds buildin’ a nest together. They dated for a good long while before they tied the knot. He calls her the most lovin’ and carin’ person in his life, I heard. That’s what a good wife should be, I always say. Someone who sticks by ya, through thick and thin, through the good times and the bad, like my old man did, rest his soul.
I don’t know much about Kayla herself, to be honest. Folks don’t talk about her much, mostly they talk about Dean and his basketball. But she must be somethin’ special to catch the eye of a fella like that. A good woman stands by her man, keeps him grounded, and I bet that’s what Kayla does. She probably keeps him fed and watered, like I do with my chickens. He needs his strength, that basketball playing takes a lot outta ya, I reckon. They say they started datin’ back in 2016, so they’ve known each other for a good spell now. That’s important, you know, gettin’ to know someone before you jump into somethin’ serious.

Now, Dean, he works hard, I hear. Practices a lot, throws that ball around for hours on end. But he also takes a break now and then.
