Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this fella, Tom Brady. Folks keep jabberin’ on and on about him and this Carolina Panthers team. Don’t know much about football myself, but I hear things, ya know? Seems like a big to-do.
Tom Brady and them Panthers, what’s the fuss? They say he’s a real good player, this Brady fella. One of the best, they claim. Like them old-timey movie stars, everyone knows his name. Now, he ain’t playin’ no more, or so they say. Retired, twice even! Can ya believe that? Guess he got tired of runnin’ around like a chicken with its head cut off.

See, the Panthers, they need a quarterback, that’s what I hear. Someone to throw the ball, I reckon. And Brady, he’s good at that, apparently. This Sean Payton fella, he’s in the mix too. Seems like he’s a coach, a real smart one, they say. And the Panthers, they were lookin’ at him too. So, people were thinkin’, maybe Brady and Payton, they’d go to the Panthers together, like two peas in a pod. But who knows with these fellas? They change their minds more often than I change my socks.
But then Brady, he up and retires again. Said he’s done for real this time. Last game he won was against the Panthers, wouldn’t ya know it? Funny how things work out. So, all that talk about him and the Panthers, well, it kinda fizzled out like a wet firecracker.
Folks are still talkin’ though. They say never say never with Brady. He’s like them weeds in my garden, always poppin’ up when ya least expect ’em. Maybe he’ll change his mind again, maybe he won’t. But for now, it seems like the Panthers are gonna have to find themselves another quarterback. And Brady, well, he’ll probably just be sittin’ on his porch, sippin’ lemonade, and watchin’ the youngsters run around.
