- Another thing they said is to look at the words that cross each other. Like, if you got one word figured out, it might help ya with another one. Makes sense, I guess. Like how one row of corn helps the next one grow straight.
I saw one of these puzzles once, had somethin’ about “CAROL BRADY.” Now, I remember her, from that show on the TV. She was a mom, that’s for sure. But the puzzle, it underlined some letters, like C, O, L, A. Spelled out “COLA,” like the drink. And the answer was somethin’ like “MOM AND POP.” See, that’s what I mean ’bout tricky. “POP” is another word for cola, like how folks used to say.
Some folks, they spend hours on these things. One fella, he said he spent like, a whole bunch of days, all added up, doin’ these crosswords. Said it was like walkin’ from one place to another, real far away. Sounds like a waste of time to me, but I guess some folks like that kinda thing. You can try to fill some answers, if you are stuck on a clue. Then you can get letters, and maybe you can remember the answer.
There was another one, somethin’ about a “European webpage” and a “stage mom.” Now, that’s just plain weird. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout no webpages or stage moms. But they wrote it out like “*.” Sounds like somethin’ a cat would say, don’t it? “Ma, ES, play!”
Now this “lands resoundingly” thing, it’s got somethin’ to do with how somethin’ falls, I reckon. Like a sack of potatoes hittin’ the floor.
