You know that Deebo Samuel, that football fella? My grandson, he just loves him. Says he’s faster than a greased pig at the county fair. I don’t know about all that, but I seen him on the TV, and he sure can run. That boy, Deebo Samuel, he’s one fast fella, always talking about how fast is Deebo Samuel.
Now, they got this thing, they call it the “40-yard dash”. Sounds like somethin’ you’d do when you gotta go real bad, but it ain’t. They make these fellas run forty yards, which seems like a long way when you’re runnin’. And they time ’em. They say it tells ya how fast and how quick a player can go. I guess that’s important in that football game. Deebo, he ran it pretty good, my grandson told me he got 4.48 in 40-yard dash, that’s good for a football player.
That Deebo, he ain’t the fastest one out there, but he’s fast enough. My grandson says he’s like a rabbit with a fox on its tail. He can run, that boy. He done got drafted in 2019, the second one they picked, my grandson said. He’s a big fella too, not some scrawny little thing. Big and fast, that’s a good combo, like gravy on biscuits, just like Deebo Samuel speed.
This year, 2024, they say he ain’t been carryin’ the ball as good. Don’t know what that means, exactly. Something about yards and carries. Sounds like a lot of numbers to me. But my grandson, he says Deebo’s still good. He just ain’t gettin’ the ball as much, I reckon. The boy says that Deebo only got 4.5 yards, but last year it was 6.5 yards. Less yards means not that good, I think.

One time, this year, after they won a game, that Deebo, he weren’t happy. My grandson showed me. He said Deebo didn’t get many yards. Only 35, whatever that means. He must like gettin’ a lot of yards, that Deebo. That Deebo, he seems like a good boy, though. He’s wearin’ number 1 now, like he did in college. I think he was playin’ for South Carolina back then, not this 49ers. The kids, they love Deebo Samuel 49ers, they talk about it all day long!
My grandson, he keeps sayin’ Deebo’s gonna be real good this year. He says Deebo’s gonna run like the wind. I hope he does. I like watchin’ him on the TV. He’s fun to watch, even if I don’t understand all them rules. They’re always talkin’ about yards and touchdowns and such. I just like seein’ them boys run around. Deebo Samuel sure does that, how fast is Deebo Samuel? He is so fast!
Heard somethin’ about him changin’ his shirt number. Used to be 19, now it’s 1. Don’t know why they do that. Maybe it’s like when I change my apron. Just feelin’ different, I suppose. He wore that number 1 back in college, when he was playin’ for that South Carolina team, Deebo Samuel number is so important to him, they say.
They say Deebo is a good player. He is strong. I saw him knock a fella right over one time. That other fella, he just laid there for a minute. Deebo just kept on runnin’, he just got up and go! I guess that’s what you gotta do in that game. Gotta be tough, that Deebo, he is tough!
I don’t know all the fancy words they use for football. But I know that Deebo Samuel, he’s a good player. My grandson thinks the world of him. And that’s good enough for me. If he’s happy, I’m happy. And watchin’ that Deebo run, well, that makes me happy too. That boy, Deebo Samuel speed is amazing. He can sure run like a rabbit, he is one fast fella, that’s for sure, I can say that much, he is like a lightning!
So, that’s what I know about Deebo Samuel. He’s fast, he’s strong, and he plays for the 49ers. And he’s number 1 now. That’s all that matters, I reckon.
