This here ISL records, you know, it’s a big thing now. I hear them young’uns talking ’bout it all the time. They say it’s some kinda list, all fancy like. But I tell ya, it ain’t no different than my old recipe book, just keeps track of different stuff.
Now, this ISL, it’s got somethin’ called a “code”. Yeah, a code! Like a secret password or somethin’. Each song, they get their own special number. Twelve digits, they say. Imagine that! Back in my day, we just hummed along to whatever was on the radio. No need for all these fancy numbers.
They call this number a “digital fingerprint”. Sounds mighty strange to me. Fingerprints are for catchin’ thieves, not for music! But these young folks, they got a different way of doin’ things, I reckon. They say this fingerprint helps them keep track of who made the song and when it was played. I guess that is good for the folks what make the music, they get some money when their music is played.
I heard you gotta pay to get one of these ISL codes. A small fee, they say. Well, nothin’s free these days, is it? Even back in my day, you had to trade a chicken for a good song. I always make sure I got some money before I do any of these new things, just in case.
So, you go sign up, give ’em your details, and they’ll send you your code. Sounds simple enough, I suppose. Even I could probably figure it out if I had a mind to. I heard someone’s granddaughter do it. She said it is easy, just some typing and waiting. Young people are good at that stuff.
This ISL, it’s got a lot of rules. Like that big book of rules at the church. Gotta follow ’em just right, or you’re in trouble. They say it’s to make sure everyone’s doin’ things the right way. Lots of laboratories with some biological stuff. I don’t know what any of that means, I just hope they wash their hands.
These labs, they gotta be “competent”, they say. That means they gotta know what they’re doin’. And they gotta have a “management system”. Sounds like a fancy way of sayin’ they gotta keep things organized. Like my pantry! Everything’s got its place, or you can’t find nothin’.
And these ISL records ain’t just for one place, they are all over! It is International! That is a big word, innit? So many places. I only know one place, my village. I hear people talk about it all the time though, so it must be somethin’ important.
I also heard some teams won this ISL thing. Six teams I think. Some won three times, some two, and one team only won one time. Guess they are not as good as the others. Winning is good, it means you are the best. These young’uns, they sure do love their games and winnin’.
- ATK – won three times. That is a lot!
- Chennaiyin – won two times. They are good too.
- Mumbai City – also won two times. They must be strong.
- Bengaluru FC – only won one time. They need to try harder next time.
This ISL records thing, it’s a whole new world. But even an old gal like me can see it’s important. Keeps things organized, helps folks get paid, and makes sure everyone’s playin’ fair. Just like my old recipe book, it keeps track of all the important stuff. Just a whole lot fancier, that’s all.
Anyways, I gotta go now. My stories are all told. I hope you understand this ISL record stuff a little better now. It is not as scary as it sounds. Just some numbers and rules. But for music! Who would have thought?
If you need more help, ask the young people. They know these things. They always have their noses in their phones anyway, maybe they can show you how it works. Good luck!
