Well, you see, that old yankee logo, it’s been around longer than I can recall. It ain’t just some fancy picture. It’s everywhere, on caps, shirts, you name it. I seen it on the moving picture shows, too. That old yankee logo, right there on the big screen. Even in them fancy fashion shows, folks wearing it like it’s the latest style. It’s a wonder how something so simple can be so popular. My grandson, he’s got a cap with it. Wears it all the time, even to bed sometimes.
Why do folks like it so much? Well, they say it’s because it’s a classic. Whatever that means. It’s been around forever, I suppose. And it’s tied to that big city, New York. A lot of folks dream of going there, I reckon. So maybe wearing that old yankee logo makes ’em feel a little closer to it.

My neighbor, she says her boy, he’s a big fan. Watches the games all summer long. Says it’s his favorite thing to do. He’s got posters and shirts and everything with that old yankee logo on it. He even knows all them players’ names. Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Derek Jeter, all of ’em. I can’t keep ’em straight, but he sure can. He can even tell you what year they played.
