And that Yu Darvish, he’s been around the block a few times. He know all about it, that Darvish. He is a good man. He help that Roki. They played together on that Japan team, you know? Roki Sasaki and Yu Darvish, them two. Like two peas in a pod, almost. He will help that young boy.
They say this Roki fella, he’s gonna be a “free agent.” Means he can go play for whoever he wants. I don’t know about all that rigmarole, but I hear a lot of teams want him. That San Diego team, the Padres. They good, yeah! Yu Darvish, he plays for them. Maybe Roki will too. That make sense, don’t it?

And this Darvish, he ain’t been too happy lately, I hear. Somethin’ about that Dodgers team, and how they’re gettin’ all the Japanese players. Don’t know much about that, but it sounds like a mess. Yu, he’s a good egg. He don’t need that kind of trouble. Maybe if he get Roki on his team, he smile more, yeah.
I hear Yu Darvish been talkin’ about Roki, sayin’ good things. That’s good, that’s what you wanna hear. A good word from a fella like Darvish, that goes a long way. He is a good man, a good ball player. He know how hard it is.
They got these rules, you see. About how much money young fellas like Roki can get when they first come over. It ain’t about the money, not at first. It’s about playin’ ball, showin’ what you can do. Roki, he understand that, I bet. He is a good boy, he will do good.
