Well, I gotta tell ya, that game, the OKC Thunder vs 76ers, it was somethin’ else. I seen it on that there TV, and them boys, they was runnin’ and jumpin’ like you wouldn’t believe! That game had a lot of player stats, I tell ya what!
Now, them Thunder players, they got some tall fellas. One fella, he was as tall as my old oak tree out back. He could sure dunk that ball! They was movin’ fast, I tell ya. They was tryin’ real hard to get that ball in the hoop. And that other team, the 76ers, they weren’t no slouches either!
Them 76ers, they was tough. They got a big fella, I heard ’em call him Embiid, Lord have mercy, that boy was a giant! He was throwin’ that ball around, and when he got near the basket, well, you best get out of the way! This Embiid fella, he had, what they call it, 16 points? I think that’s what they said. That’s a lot of baskets, if you ask me.
And they got some other fellas too, names I can’t rightly recall. But they was all hustlin’, runnin’ up and down that court, sweatin’ like they just chased a hog in the summer heat. That’s how much they was runnin’! This was the game on January 15, I remember that much.
- That Embiid fella got 24 points.
- It seems that they was sayin’ he was out for nine weeks.
- That’s a long time to be sittin’ on the sidelines, I reckon.
- But he sure came back with a bang!
- Got them free throws.
The score, well, it was somethin’. One time I looked, and it was like 115 to 96. That’s a heap of points! They keep track of all them numbers, who made what, who did this and that. They call it player stats, I believe. Keeps the young folks busy, I suppose, all that number crunchin’.
They was showin’ some charts, too. Looked like a bunch of lines goin’ every which way. I couldn’t make heads or tails of it, but I reckon it’s important to some folks. They was sayin’ somethin’ about “play by play summary.” Sounds fancy, don’t it?
They said these two teams, the Thunder and the 76ers, they played before. Lots of times, it seems. They even got it all written down, how many times they won and lost against each other. They call it “head-to-head stats.” Like they’re buttin’ heads, I guess, like them old billy goats we used to have on the farm.
They even talked about their “regular season” and “playoff stats.” Like it’s two different things! And “championships.” Well, that’s somethin’ to be proud of, ain’t it? Winnin’ a championship. It’s like winnin’ the pie-eatin’ contest at the county fair, only with a lot more runnin’ and jumpin’.
All in all, it was a good game. Lots of excitement. Made me wish I was young again, so I could run and jump like that. But then again, my old knees probably wouldn’t agree with that. This OKC Thunder and 76ers game is sure interesting to watch.
I do like watchin’ them Oklahoma City Thunder. They got a good team. Them Philadelphia 76ers ain’t bad either. But I got a soft spot for them Thunder boys. They play hard, and they play fair. That’s what I like to see.
I remember one time, they had a game on November 25. Don’t rightly recall who they played against, but it was a good one. They was all over that court, like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. But they knew what they was doin’, I reckon. They got them team stats, and they all was workin’ together like a well-oiled machine.
Well, I reckon I’ve talked your ear off enough about this basketball game. It’s just somethin’ to watch, you know? Keeps me entertained. And it’s fun to see them young fellas runnin’ and jumpin’ and tryin’ to get that ball in the hoop. It’s a good way to pass the time, I tell ya. And these OKC Thunder vs 76ers player stats are sure somethin’ to behold, if you’re into that sort of thing. Them boys sure can play!
