This here talk is about that Dan Lanning fella and them Nike shoes, and some money stuff, you know, that stock market thing. I heard folks talking ’bout it down at the general store. Seems like a whole mess of numbers and whatnot, but I’ll try to make sense of it the best I can.
Now, this Nike, they make them sneakers, right? Everybody wearin’ ’em. And this Dan Lanning, he’s that coach fella, right? He’s a big name, I guess. I don’t know much about that sport, but I heard he’s doing good. People seem to like him. And he wears them Nike shoes, always has. And I reckon folks think that is a big deal. That fella, he sure likes them Nike shoes, don’t he?
So, this Nike stock, it’s like… you own a little piece of that shoe company. Like sharin’ a cow. You get a little milk, they get a little milk. That’s how I figure it. And the price, it goes up and down like a seesaw at the schoolyard. Sometimes it’s high, sometimes it’s low. Just gotta watch it, I reckon.
Them smart fellas, they call ’em ana-lists, they’re sayin’ this Nike stock, it’s gonna go up. They got all these numbers, like $120.00, $73.00, and $77.25. I don’t know what all them numbers mean, but they say it’s a good thing, this Nike, like a good harvest. They say that Nike is a “Moderate Buy”, whatever that is.
- Some fella says it could go up to $128.00.
- Another says maybe $70.00.
- They all thinkin’ it’s gonna go up from where it is now, which they say is around $76.94.
They got some fancy words for it, like “financial health” and “growth prospects.” Sounds like talkin’ ’bout a prize-winnin’ pig at the county fair. They say Nike is “inline with the market”, I guess like all the other things they are selling. It’s got a “Growth Score” of C. Not an A, not a B, but a C. Like gettin’ a C on your schoolwork. Not bad, not great. And then there’s the “Momentum Score”. This Nike fella, he ain’t got much of that, apparently. They gave it an F. That is a fail, right? Like flunking your spelling test.
Right now, they’re sayin’ that Nike stock is at $77.26. Some folks, called “InvestingPro”, think it’s worth more than that. They are saying it’s a good time to buy some of that stock. Like buyin’ seeds in the spring, hopin’ for a good crop come fall. They say it is a good thing to have that Nike stock. Like a good pair of work boots.
This Dan Lanning, he’s tied up with Nike somehow, like two peas in a pod. I don’t know exactly how, but people talk about them together like they are a pair of shoes. When he does good, Nike does good, I reckon. That is what I heard. He’s always wearin’ them shoes. I guess that’s why they like him so much. And it makes the price go up maybe? I don’t know.
They say the average price they expect is $90.45. That’s higher than the $77.25 it is now. So, if you buy it now, and it goes up to that, you make some money. Like sellin’ your extra eggs at the market. But, like I said before, you could also lose money if the price goes down. It is a gamble, that stock.
Another thing, it’s a gamble, ain’t it? Like bettin’ on a horse race. You might win big, or you might lose your shirt. This stock market thing, it ain’t for the faint of heart, I tell ya. You gotta be willin’ to take a chance, like plantin’ your crops and hopin’ for rain. This Dan Lanning Nike stock, it is the same. You put your money in and see what happens. I don’t know much about it, but that is what I heard.
These city folks and their money, they got all these fancy ways of doin’ things. But it all comes down to the same thing, I reckon. Buyin’ low, sellin’ high. Just like tradin’ at the general store. You try to get a good deal, and you hope you come out ahead. And that Dan Lanning, I reckon he is a part of that deal now. I still don’t know much about it, I just hear things.
This whole Dan Lanning Nike stock thing, it’s a lot to think about. I reckon if you got some extra money, and you ain’t afraid of losin’ it, maybe it’s worth a shot. But if you’re like me, and you like to keep your money where you can see it, maybe just stick to buyin’ the shoes. That is what I will do. Just buy a good pair of shoes and wear them, right?
