This one time, I saw this tennis match, you know? It was Borna Coric against that other fella, Jan-Lennard Struff. Oh boy, it was somethin’ else.
These two fellas, they were hittin’ that little ball back and forth, back and forth. I tell ya, my old eyes could barely keep up! Coric, he’s a good-lookin’ young man, from Croatia, I hear. And Struff, he’s from Germany. They are both good. Coric has won a few games, and Struff has won a few, too.
Coric vs Struff, Who’s Better?
Now, I ain’t no expert, but that Coric, he’s got a real good serve. He can hit that ball so hard. That Struff, he runs around a lot, gets to every ball. They both run a lot. It’s all very tiring to watch. I need a nap after all that.

They played this one match, it was at the, uh, BNP Paribas Open. Fancy name, huh? It was in Indian Wells, some place in California. That’s what I heard, anyway. They said it was the second round. I don’t know what that means, but it sounded important. This match was in March, 2024. That was this year. It went on for a long time.
Coric and Struff, they played another match, too. This one was in Monte Carlo. That’s another one of them fancy places. It was in April, 2024, just a little bit after the other one. That’s where rich folks go, I reckon. They got all them casinos and whatnot. Anyway, these two played tennis there, too. They are always playing tennis. Always running and sweating.
Head-to-Head, What’s That?
They talk about somethin’ called “head-to-head”. Sounds kinda funny to me. Like they’re gonna bump heads or somethin’. But it’s just about who won more matches against the other. I don’t know who won more between Coric and Struff. It’s all very confusin’. They both seem to win some and lose some. They win, they lose. That’s how it goes.
I seen ’em on the TV, they got these big rackets. Not like the ones we used to use to beat the rugs. These are special, I guess. And they wear them fancy clothes, all white and colorful. It’s a show, that’s for sure. And there is always a crowd. Lots of people watching.
That Coric, he hits the ball real hard with his racket, and that Struff, he’s fast, he gets to the ball most times. Coric has a good serve. Struff is good at running. Sometimes they hit it in the net. Then they gotta start over. It’s all very complicated.
Tennis is Hard to Follow
They got all these rules, too. Love, 15, 30, 40… What’s that all about? And deuce? Sounds like somethin’ you’d use to clean the outhouse. I don’t get it. But they seem to know what they’re doin’. They have a net, and they have to hit the ball over the net. They can’t hit it out of bounds. That’s what they call it, out of bounds.

These Coric vs Struff matches, they go on for a long time. Sometimes it’s hot, and they’re sweatin’ like pigs. Sometimes it’s in a big stadium, with lots of people watchin’. It’s all a big to-do. And they have to hit it in a little square. They have lines on the ground. All very precise. They get points for hitting it in the square.
I don’t know who’s gonna win the next time they play. It could be Coric, it could be Struff. They’re both good players. They are both strong and fast. It’s hard to say. It’s like pickin’ between two good apples. You never know which one will be sweeter. They both play hard. It’s fun to watch them.
Watching Tennis is Fun
One thing’s for sure, though, watchin’ these tennis matches is more excitin’ than watchin’ the grass grow. And it’s a heck of a lot more excitin’ than shuckin’ corn. I like to watch it on TV. It’s a good way to pass the time. Even if I don’t understand all the rules. It is better than doing chores, that is for sure.
So, next time you see Borna Coric playin’ Jan-Lennard Struff, you just remember what I said. They’re both good, they both try hard, and it’s gonna be a good match. You just sit back and enjoy it. And maybe have a nice glass of iced tea while you’re at it. And don’t worry about the score. Just watch them run around. It’s quite a sight. I hope they don’t get too tired. They need to rest.
