Okay, so, I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about Viktor Hovland and his new shoes. I mean, the guy’s a golfing pro, first Norwegian to win on both the PGA and European Tours, and now he’s rocking some new kicks. Naturally, I had to check them out.
I started digging around a bit. Turns out, PUMA GOLF just signed him to a shoe-only deal. That’s kind of a big deal, right? This guy’s got ten professional wins under his belt, and he’s trusting PUMA with his feet. I saw a post on June 5th from pumagolf, it got a lot of likes, and they announced the signing of Viktor Hovland to an exclusive shoe-only agreement.
So, I went down a bit of a rabbit hole. Found out his shoe of choice is the PUMA Ignite Articulate. Apparently, some folks have already tested them and loved them. They said these shoes have “excellent traction” and “all-around support.” Plus, they look pretty sharp, which, you know, is important.
I managed to get my hands on a pair, I saw a post on June 8th about testing out the new Puma AVANT spikeless shoe with Viktor, and they said they were breaking in these fresh kicks. I’m guessing they are the same as the ones I got. I got to say, they were pretty comfortable right out of the box. I wore them around the house, walked the dog in them, even did a few practice swings in the backyard.
My experience
- First impressions: These shoes are light. Like, really light. And they look good. Not too flashy, but definitely stylish.
- Comfort level: Top-notch. I could wear these all day, no problem. And the cushioning is just right – not too soft, not too firm.
- Trying them out: I took them to the driving range. Did some warm-up swings, then started hitting some balls. The grip was solid. Even on those awkward lies, I felt stable.
- Final thoughts: I’m impressed. These shoes live up to the hype. They are so good! I felt like I could really feel the ground beneath my feet, which is important for my swing.
Now, I’m not saying these shoes will make you play like Viktor Hovland. I wish! But they definitely feel great, and they give you a solid base. If you’re in the market for some new golf shoes, I’d say these are worth checking out. I’m definitely going to be wearing these for my next round. I’m excited to see how they perform on the course, I’ll have to report back after that.
Honestly, it makes sense that Viktor’s wearing them. He’s been a J. Lindeberg ambassador since 2019, so he knows a thing or two about style. And with these shoes, it seems like he’s found the perfect combination of performance and looks.
