Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get a Canelo Alvarez tattoo on my arm for a while now. I’m a huge boxing fan, and Canelo is just a legend, you know? So, I finally decided to go for it.
First, I spent hours looking for the right design. I wanted something that really captured Canelo’s spirit, not just any random picture. I went through tons of photos and finally found a really cool, powerful image of him mid-fight. That was the one.
Then came the hard part – finding the right artist. I didn’t want just anyone doing this, it had to be someone who could really handle the detail and make it look amazing. I looked around online, checked out a bunch of different studios, and read a ton of reviews. Finally, I found this one artist whose work I really loved. His style seemed perfect for what I had in mind.
I contacted him, sent over the design, and we talked about placement and size. He suggested doing it on my upper arm, which I thought was a great idea. We also discussed the cost. He told me that it was going to be somewhere around $1500, give or take, depending on how long it took. It was more than I initially wanted to spend, but I figured it was worth it for a tattoo this important and from such a good artist, right?
Next, I booked an appointment, waited a couple of weeks. Finally, the day arrived! I was a little nervous but mostly excited. The artist was super chill and professional, which helped a lot. He started by making a stencil of the design and putting it on my arm so I could see how it would look. We made a few small adjustments to get it just right.
Then, the actual tattooing began. It took about six hours in total, with a few breaks in between. I won’t lie, it hurt in some spots, especially near the elbow and the inside of my arm. But it wasn’t unbearable, and the artist was really good about checking in on me to make sure I was okay.
Finally, it was done! I was so stoked when I saw the finished tattoo. It looked even better than I had imagined. The detail was incredible, and it really captured the intensity of the photo I had chosen. The artist wrapped it up, gave me some aftercare instructions, and sent me on my way.
Here’s what I learned from the whole experience:
- Do your research! Finding the right design and artist is crucial.
- Be prepared to spend a decent amount of money, especially for a larger, detailed tattoo.
- It’s going to hurt a bit, but it’s worth it in the end.
- Follow the aftercare instructions carefully to make sure it heals properly.
Now, a few weeks later, the tattoo is fully healed, and I absolutely love it. It’s a great conversation starter, and it’s a constant reminder of one of my favorite athletes. If you’re thinking about getting a tattoo, especially a portrait, definitely take your time, do your research, and find an artist you trust. It’s a big decision, but when it’s done right, it’s something you’ll cherish forever.
