Alright, guys, so I’ve been following this 2024 WWE Draft thing, and let me tell you, it’s been quite a ride. I started by checking out when and where this whole thing was going down. Found out it was scheduled for two days, April 26th and some day in May, but the first part, that was happening on Friday, April 26th, over at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. They called it Night 1 of the draft, and it was part of their SmackDown show.
So, I dug a little deeper. I learned that this whole draft thing is basically a way for WWE to shake up their rosters. They move wrestlers from one brand to another, like from Raw to SmackDown, or vice versa. And get this, since 2016, they’ve even been pulling wrestlers from their developmental brand, NXT.
I went looking for the rules ’cause, you know, every game’s got rules. Turns out, the champions on each brand are protected. Means folks like Damian Priest, they’re safe from being moved around. Makes sense, right? You don’t want to mess with your champions.
The draft itself, from what I gathered, it’s broken down into rounds. On that Friday’s SmackDown, they were gonna announce four rounds of picks. Each round, the brands get two picks each. So, we’re talking about 16 picks being announced that night. I tried to keep track, but honestly, it got a little confusing with all the back-and-forth. All I know is that only ‘traditional’ wrestling moves are allowed, and you can face disqualification for things like eye-gouging.
- First, I made sure to mark down the dates.
- Then, I started reading up on what the draft actually is.
- Next, I looked into the rules.
- After that, I tried to understand how the rounds and picks work.
It’s all about refreshing the rosters, keeping things interesting.
I tried to follow along as they announced the picks. I saw some of my favorites getting moved around, and it’s definitely gonna change things up. Now I’m just waiting to see how it all plays out in the ring.
My Takeaway
This whole WWE Draft thing, it’s a big deal. It changes the game, brings in new matchups, and keeps us fans on our toes. I’m excited to see what happens next. It’s like, you think you know what’s going on, and then bam, they switch things up. Gonna be an interesting year for sure.
