Alright, so I was trying out Lilia Vu’s setup, right? Heard a lot of buzz around this player’s gear, especially since she’s with Rhone now. They’re all about performance wear, and they’ve got a line just for women. That’s pretty cool, and it seems like they’re really supporting the LPGA, which I’m all for. Sounds like this might be important for Lilia to achieve success.
Anyways, I got my hands on some of her clubs, not the actual ones she uses in tournaments, mind you, but the same models. First off, the driver. It’s a TaylorMade, but not the new Stealth 2 everyone’s talking about. Nope, she’s using the original Stealth Plus. It’s kind of interesting, not many players are still using the first Stealth.
- Driver: TaylorMade Stealth Plus (not the Stealth 2)
I took it to the range, and I gotta say, it felt pretty good. I mean, I’m no pro, but I could definitely feel the difference compared to my old driver. It’s got a solid feel to it, and I was hitting the ball a bit further than usual. Not by a huge margin, but enough to notice.
Then there are the fairway woods. She’s using Callaway for those. I tried out a couple of shots with them, and they were smooth. Real easy to hit, and the ball just seemed to fly off the face. I could see why she’d go with those.
- Fairway woods: Callaway
Next up, the irons. She’s got Srixon irons. Now, I’m not as familiar with Srixon, but these irons were something else. They felt really balanced, and I was getting some nice, clean contact with the ball. I was actually surprised by how much I liked them.
- Irons: Srixon
For the wedges, she’s using Titleist. Those are pretty standard, you see a lot of players with Titleist wedges. They’re reliable, and you can get a lot of spin on the ball with them. I practiced some chip shots, and they felt great. Nothing too surprising there, but definitely solid.
- Wedges: Titleist
Finally, the putter. It’s a Scotty Cameron. Another classic choice. It’s got a nice weight to it, and the ball rolls really smoothly off the face. I’m not the best putter, but I felt like I had a bit more control with this one.
- Putter: Scotty Cameron
Conclusion
Overall, it was a fun experience trying out Lilia Vu’s setup. I can see why she’s doing so well. The clubs are top-notch, and they definitely seem to suit her game. Would I switch to her exact setup? Maybe not entirely, but I’m definitely thinking about getting my hands on those Srixon irons. They were really impressive.
And yeah, it’s cool to see a company like Rhone supporting women in golf. Maybe I’ll check out some of their clothes too. If they’re as good as Lilia’s clubs, they’ve got to be worth it, right?
