Alright, so I’ve been messing around with Diablo 4 lately, and let me tell you, I hit a wall. I started as a Sorcerer, flinging spells left and right, feeling all-powerful. But then, I realized I wanted to try something different. I wanted to get up close and personal with the demons, smash them face-to-face, you know? So, I decided I needed to switch things up and become a Barbarian.
At first, I thought it would be easy peasy, like changing clothes. Boy, was I wrong. Turns out, you can’t just magically transform your character into a different class. I poked around the menus, clicked on everything, and even tried talking to some NPCs, but nope, nothing. I felt pretty dumb, to be honest. I thought I could just change it with a simple click, just like I do with my skills.
But I didn’t give up. I took a breather and then started digging. I figured there must be a way, right? I mean, why have different classes if you’re stuck with your first choice forever?
And then I found out what I was missing. It’s not about changing your current character; it’s about starting fresh. You gotta create a brand-new character if you want a different class. It was so obvious, I felt like facepalming myself.
Here’s what I did:
- Headed back to the character selection screen. Yeah, the very first one you see when you start the game.
- Clicked on that big “Create New Character” button. Felt a little weird since I already had a character, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do.
- Picked “Barbarian” this time around. Finally, I was going to be the buff warrior I wanted to be.
- Customized my new Barbarian. Gave him a cool scar and a mean-looking beard.
- Started the game anew. This was the only way to play as a Barbarian.
So, there you have it. I went from a spell-slinging Sorcerer to a bone-crushing Barbarian, but not by changing my existing character. I had to start over, create a new one, and choose my desired class right from the get-go. It’s a bit of a bummer that you can’t switch classes on the fly, but hey, at least now I’m having a blast smashing demons with my new Barbarian.
