Alright, so I’ve been glued to the screen all day watching the USC Trojans take on the Colorado Buffaloes. Man, what a game! Let me tell you, it wasn’t just a simple watch-and-see; I dove deep into this one.
First off, I started the day by checking out the rankings and, you know, all that jazz. USC is sitting pretty at #27 nationally, but they haven’t been #1 since 2012. I remember that season – they started strong but then, phew, it kinda went downhill. They ended up 7-6, which was a bummer. I was hoping this game could be a step towards getting back on top.
Then I dug into the betting odds ’cause, why not? It’s always fun to see what the “experts” think. The Trojans were favored by 4.5 points, and the over/under was set at 51.5. But the line really got me. I mean, -1400 for USC, they were the heavy favorite for sure.
I made myself some coffee, got some snacks ready, and tuned into FOX. The game was at Folsom Field in Boulder, a pretty awesome place to play. I had a feeling this was gonna be a high-scoring affair; I mean it has to be right? everyone was saying USC is going to score at least 50 points against Colorado.
The game kicked off, and boy, was it a rollercoaster! I was tracking every play, every score, every penalty. Colorado was looking to bounce back after that tough loss to Oregon, and USC was trying to stay in the hunt for a Pac-12 title. The pressure was on!
I was scribbling notes, yelling at the TV, and basically, living and breathing this game. There were moments when I thought Colorado might actually pull off the upset. I started to believe that the computer model prediction was right, they really might win! But USC, they just kept fighting back.
Here’s how I broke it down:
- First Quarter: USC started strong, no surprises there. I was nodding along, thinking, “Yep, this is going as expected.”
- Second Quarter: Colorado started to show some life. My notes are filled with exclamation marks here. I was getting nervous!
- Third Quarter: It was back and forth, a real nail-biter. My snack bowl was empty by this point, and I was on the edge of my seat.
- Fourth Quarter: This is where it got really crazy. Colorado made a huge push, and I was screaming at the TV, “Can they do it? Can they actually pull this off?”
In the end, USC managed to hold on and won 48-41. Whew! I was exhausted, but what a game! I immediately updated all my notes, highlighting key plays and turning points. My prediction was totally wrong.
It was a great example of why we love college football – the unexpected twists, the passion, the sheer unpredictability of it all. I’ll be analyzing this one for days, trying to figure out what went right for USC and what Colorado needs to work on. Definitely a day well spent in front of the TV!
