Okay, so, I was digging into the whole WWE wrestler scene, right? It’s like, every other day there’s news about someone getting released, and I wanted to get to the bottom of it. I started by looking at who got released recently.
I fired up my browser and started searching for recent WWE releases. One name that popped up was Dolph Ziggler. Man, that guy’s been around forever! The site I found said he was released on September 21st. That’s a big one, a real shocker. It got me thinking, who else is on the chopping block?
Then I stumbled upon this page that lists all the current WWE wrestlers as of, get this, today, December 31, 2024. It had everyone from Raw, SmackDown, and even NXT. I scrolled through the list, you know, just to see who’s still around and who’s not.
Next, I found this article by some guy named Jason Powell from this site called *. He mentioned a bunch of wrestlers who got released starting on Friday, November 1st. It seemed like they were just cleaning house or something.
I also noticed that the WWE roster has been getting smaller, especially after some TV rights announcement and a big merger. They mentioned Matt Riddle and, again, Dolph Ziggler. It’s like they’re really shaking things up over there.
Another page I checked out had a list of WWE Alumni, like, everyone who’s ever been in the company. Raw, SmackDown, ECW, NXT, all of them. You wouldn’t believe some of the names I saw there!
What’s The Deal?
And then I remembered the Dudley Boyz, remember them? They came back in 2015, and it got me thinking about all the wrestlers who get released and where they end up. So, I found this other article that talked about all the releases in 2020, 2021, and 2022 and where those guys are now. Some are in AEW, some in IMPACT Wrestling, it’s wild.
I was also curious about why wrestlers don’t use their real names in WWE. Turns out, WWE wants to own their stage names, or “gimmicks,” so they can use them for other wrestlers later on. Smart, I guess, but kinda weird, right?
There was this wrestler, Big E, his real name is Ettore Ewen. He’s been around, but he’s not wrestling anymore because he hurt his neck pretty bad in March 2022. It’s a tough business, man.
In the Spring of 2024, there’s more news of releases. Jinder Mahal, a former WWE Champion, Xyon Quinn, and Xia Li.
Oh, and I almost forgot! John Cena, yeah, that John Cena, he made a music album in 2005 called “You Can’t See Me.” It was released on May 10th, 2005. He made it with his cousin, Tha Trademarc. Who knew, right?
So yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to. Just trying to make sense of all these WWE releases and what’s going on with the company. It’s a whole soap opera, I’m telling ya.
