Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with “MLB The Show 24” lately, specifically that Road to the Show mode. I got drafted to a team that, well, let’s just say it wasn’t my first choice. Naturally, the first thing I wanted to do was get myself traded to a team I actually liked. So I dove into the game, figuring there had to be a way to request a trade, right?
I started poking around in all the menus. I checked my player profile, the team options, everything. Nothing. I was like, “Where is it?” I even tried to act like a total jerk to the manager, hoping that would somehow trigger a trade. During one of my conversations with the agent, I noticed a dialogue choice that said “request a trade”, so I selected it. Nothing happened after that. I kept playing, hoping I’d get traded soon, but still nothing. I mean, I’m tearing it up on the field, hitting bombs, making crazy catches, the whole nine yards. Still stuck. It’s like they didn’t even notice me. I thought, “Maybe if I play worse, they’ll want to get rid of me.” But that didn’t work either.
Frustrated, I paused the game and pulled out my phone. I started searching, and guess what? Turns out, you can’t directly request a trade in “MLB The Show 24.” It’s not an option. I was shocked! In the past games you could tell your agent you weren’t happy and wanted out. But now? Nope.
I found some folks online saying the developers, SDS, took out the trade request feature for some reason. Other people suggested trying to increase the “Trade Frequency” slider in the settings to improve the odds of being traded, but that didn’t really help me either. It seems like the only way to get traded is if the team decides they want to trade you.
Then I discovered something called “Force Trades” in the Franchise mode settings. This lets you basically swap players between teams. But that’s not what I wanted. I wanted to get traded in my Road to the Show career, not play manager.
So, there you have it. After all that searching and experimenting, I realized I was stuck with my team in “MLB The Show 24” unless they decided to trade me. It’s a bummer, but I guess that’s just how it is. I’ll keep playing and see what happens, but it looks like I’m stuck here. Maybe I’ll get traded eventually, but for now, I’m just gonna focus on playing and hope for the best.
