Oh boy, let me tell you about the time I stumbled upon this story about Jrue Holiday and his wife, Lauren. It was a regular evening, I was just scrolling through the internet, you know, the usual stuff. And then, BAM! I saw this headline about Jrue Holiday’s wife having a brain tumor while she was pregnant. I mean, can you believe it? My jaw just dropped.
So, naturally, I dove right in. I started reading everything I could find about it. Apparently, Lauren, who’s a soccer star, by the way, found out she had a brain tumor when she was about six months pregnant. She was having these awful headaches, and when she went in for an MRI, they discovered this tumor near her eye socket. It’s called a meningioma. But you know what the doctors said? They said it was benign, which is a good thing, right?
Dealing with the Unthinkable
Imagine, you’re expecting your first child, all excited and nervous, and then you get hit with news like that. It must have been terrifying! From what I read, Jrue, he’s this big NBA star, decided to put his career on hold to be there for Lauren. How much does a man have to sacrifice for his family? Family first, I totally get that. He took care of his wife and newborn. This man is a real MVP!
- First, they had to wait until the baby was born. Safety first, you know?
- Lauren gave birth to a healthy baby girl in September 2016. What a relief that must have been!
- Then, a month later, in October, Lauren had surgery to remove the tumor.
I kept reading, and I found out that the surgery went well. They got the tumor out, and Lauren was on the road to recovery. I mean, what a rollercoaster of emotions that must have been for them. It really makes you appreciate your health and your loved ones, you know?
Life After
After all that, they moved forward. Now, they have a beautiful daughter. After this whole ordeal, it seemed like they were just focused on being a family and enjoying life. You only live once, right?
I don’t know, the whole story just really struck me. It’s a reminder that life can throw some serious curveballs, but with love and support, you can get through anything. It also showed me the kind of person Jrue Holiday is, putting his family first like that. Respect. And Lauren, what a fighter! It made me think about how strong women really are. Anyway, I just wanted to share this story with you all. It’s one of those things that just sticks with you, you know?
By the way, I saw that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, another basketball player, also announced some good news about him and his girlfriend. It seems these basketball players are all about family. This is great!
