Today I was trying to play Lethal Company with my friends. The game was running just fine, but when I tried to join my friend’s lobby, I got an error message that said “an error occurred joining”.
This was weird, I’d never seen this error before. I tried a few times, but nothing changed, so I went online to see what I could find.
Troubleshooting
Here’s what I did to try and fix the problem:
- Checked my internet: First, I made sure my internet connection was stable. I even switched to a wired connection to be extra sure.
- Updated the game: I checked if there were any updates for the game, and made sure I was running the latest version, just like my friends.
- Looked at my mods: I had a few mods installed, so I double-checked if they were compatible with the game’s current version. I even tried disabling some to see if that would help. And I talked with my friends to make sure we all have the same modlist.
- Reinstalled the game: As a last resort, I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I was hoping this would fix any corrupted files that might be causing the issue.
I was hoping one of these steps would fix the problem, but I still couldn’t join my friend’s lobby. It was so annoying!
After trying all of that, I asked my friends if they had the same problem, and found they are all in the latest version and had the same modlist with me, but still not working. One of them told me to try another lobby with one of our friends in the group who also plays this game. So I tried and boom! I made it! I don’t know why but it seems that the problem was on my friend’s side, not me!
