Today, I’m diving back into the good old days of FIFA 10, specifically focusing on the legend himself, Lionel Messi. I pulled out my old console and fired up the game. I remembered those days when I first got FIFA 10. The excitement was real, especially to see how they’d portrayed Messi.
I started a new career mode, naturally picking Barcelona to make sure I had Messi on my team. Seeing his stats and skills in the game brought back so many memories. I recalled that he had a different number back then, he is playing with number 8 now. He has amazing skill stats, like a 73 for aggression, 70 for stamina, 69 for acceleration, and 69 for strength.
Playing Matches
In the first match, I decided to control Messi exclusively. I dribbled past defenders like they weren’t even there. His agility and ball control were insane. I scored a few goals, including a beautiful free-kick that I managed to bend around the wall. It felt so satisfying to recreate those iconic Messi moments. I know that there were 29 different FIFA cards of Lionel Messi, which were in 4 different positions (RW, CAM, CF, ST).
- Attempted several long shots.
- Successfully executed a bunch of skill moves.
- Assisted my teammates with precise passes.
Comparing with Other Versions
After playing a few matches, I got curious and looked up how Messi was represented in other FIFA versions. I noticed that he’s been consistently rated highly throughout the years. I found out that his best cards in Ultimate Team were his TOTY and TOTS cards, often rated 98 or 99 overall. His FIFA 13 and FIFA 14 cards also had a 94 rating. It’s a joke that even when Ronaldo’s team won CL, Messi is still two full points better.
I also checked out his current stats compared to back then. It’s interesting to see how his ratings have changed over time. I saw that his rating declined since FIFA 08. It was his lowest rating below 90. But he first appeared in the series in 2005 as a 78-rated teenager on FIFA 06.
Wrapping Up
Playing as Messi in FIFA 10 was a blast from the past. It reminded me of why he’s considered one of the greatest of all time. I’ll probably spend a few more hours reliving these moments. Maybe I’ll even try to break some of my old records.
Anyway, that’s all for my FIFA 10 Messi experience. Hope you enjoyed this little trip down memory lane with me!
