Okay, so I saw this thing online, people are saying Pam Oliver was drunk during a game? I had to see what this was about. So, first thing I did was fire up my browser and start searching.
I typed in “Pam Oliver drunk” and all these articles popped up. People were talking about how she was slurring her words during a game between the Miami Dolphins and the Green Bay Packers, back in December 2022. Some folks on Twitter were saying she must’ve been drunk or something.
But then I dug a bit deeper. Turns out, it’s not that simple. I read that Pam Oliver, who’s a pretty famous Fox Sports broadcaster, has been dealing with migraines for years. And I mean, bad ones, not just regular headaches. She’s had them since she was 25, and they still mess with her to this day.
So, I found this interview she did with some guy named Richard Deitsch from The Athletic in November 2021. She talked all about how these migraines can be super bad and mess with her ability to speak sometimes. That’s probably what happened during that game. She wasn’t drunk, she was having a migraine attack!
Digging Around
- Watched some clips: I watched a few clips of her from that game, and yeah, her speech was a bit off. It’s gotta be tough doing live TV with a migraine.
- Read more articles: Most of the articles I read were saying the same thing, migraines are the likely cause. I found one article that mentioned that she was hit in the face by a football during warm-ups once, but that was not on the same day.
- Checked out her background: Just out of curiosity, I also looked up her background. She went to Florida A&M University and got a degree in broadcast journalism. She’s been doing this for a while, and she makes a good amount of money, too, or that’s what I read.
So, after all that, I’m pretty sure Pam Oliver wasn’t drunk during that game. It sounds like she was dealing with a migraine, which is a real bummer. It just goes to show, you can’t always believe what you see on Twitter. Sometimes there’s more to the story. Always do your own research, like me!
