So, I gotta tell you about this whole “WITB” thing – What’s In The Bag. Sounds kinda fancy, right? But it’s just about the golf clubs some guy named Pat Perez uses. I ain’t no golf pro, but I’ve been following this stuff ’cause it’s kinda interesting how these guys switch up their gear.
First off, I heard back in, like, 2018 or something, Pat was at some tournament called the RSM Classic. Back then, it seemed like he was all about these PXG clubs. I remember looking them up – they looked pretty slick, I gotta say. Had a full bag of them, the whole shebang.
But then, things got switched around. I started noticing around 2021, this guy Pat, he started using some TaylorMade clubs. Now, I ain’t no expert, but that’s a big change, right? Going from all-in on one brand to mixing it up. It’s like, imagine you always ate at the same burger joint, then suddenly you’re hitting up a taco stand. Made me wonder what was going on there.
Then I started digging a little deeper. Turns out, Pat’s not even playing on the PGA Tour anymore. Moved on to something called LIV Golf as of June 2022. Different league, different rules, I guess. From what I gathered, he joined some team called 4Aces GC, led by a guy named Dustin Johnson. They must be pretty good, ’cause even though Pat wasn’t raking in the dough individually in 2023, his team was doing alright. It’s all a bit confusing, but it seems like he made more money from being on that winning team than from his own game.
It’s a whole different world out there with this LIV Golf thing. Pat’s been making a lot of changes in his career, from the clubs he uses to where he plays. It’s like watching a soap opera, but with golf clubs instead of, you know, love triangles and stuff.
