Okay, so I was scrolling through Instagram the other day, and I saw this video from the No Laying Up Podcast. It was all about Rickie Fowler and his orange hat. Now, I’m a big golf fan, and I’ve always noticed that Rickie wears this bright orange polo on the final day of tournaments. It got me thinking, why orange?
So, I did a little digging. It turns out that Rickie wears orange as a shout-out to his college, Oklahoma State University. Their colors are, you guessed it, orange! I thought that was pretty cool, a nice little nod to his roots. It wasn’t just his hat, he was wearing a full orange outfit: shirt, pants, and belt.
I started to look into it some more, and apparently, Rickie’s been wearing Puma gear for most of his pro career. He’s like a walking, talking Puma billboard. And this whole orange thing has become a big deal in the golf world. A lot of fans, especially those who went to OSU, wear orange to support him. It’s like a whole movement.
- I went down a bit of a rabbit hole and found this Puma cap that Rickie wears. It’s got a big “P” on it, which obviously stands for Puma. But they’re also saying that the “P” can stand for other things. It’s kind of a fun, quirky marketing thing.
- What I thought was the most interesting was, I’m not alone with the orange gear. A lot of people are rocking orange at tournaments. It’s like a way to show support for Rickie and OSU.
I even tried to get my hands on some of this gear. I figured, why not show some support? Plus, I kind of like the color orange. It’s bold and stands out. So, I went online, did some searching, and ended up ordering an orange polo. Not a Puma one, couldn’t find the exact one, but it’s still orange! I’m planning on wearing it to the next tournament I go to. Maybe I’ll even get an orange hat to complete the look.
It’s funny how something as simple as a color can become such a big part of someone’s identity and even a whole culture around a sport. I never really thought about it before, but now I’m all in on this orange thing. I guess you could say I’m a Rickie Fowler fan now, or at least an orange fan. I ended up buying myself an orange polo and hat to wear the next time I went out to play at the local course.
The Result?
The outfit was a hole-in-one! It’s amazing how a splash of color can brighten up the green. Now, I’m ready to hit the links in style, all thanks to Rickie Fowler’s fashion statement. Who knew an orange outfit could make such a difference?
